My old VoltesV is in near perfect condition except for the tank treads which have deteriorated, and fallen apart. The old Combattler is holding out a little better.
Here's my thought. Perhaps there is some toy or model bulldozer or other construction machine, or army tank out there that has a tread that will fit for a good substitute. Heck, I'd pay ten bucks for a toy just to take the treads if they fit. Any ideas?

Is your thread completely torn apart into several pieces or just cut off in the middle. If it's the later, you could just super glued it. It won't be visible unless you are really close to it. I did this with mine and you can't really tell unless you pick up the robot and look really close at his back.

Unfortunately the Voltes treads are in several pieces. Way beyond anything glue could fix.

I second that. I bought 2 sets from him, because they also fit the D17 Shigcon Tank.

I remember that Greattoys had treads for the Combattler, but those are different from the ones on Voltes. The Combattler tread has a rib that runs around the inside of the band. Plus they are different sizes.

vivi1561 owns multiples of Popy DX Voltes V. He also makes replacement treads for the PB-06 Volt Panzer. As for the quality of the replacement treads, they are facsimile of the original. Does vivi1561 ("Venson") sell replacement threads? Yes. tw.f3.page.bid.yahoo.com/tw/auction/c16428132I forgot what the direct selling price is for the threads. You can also send Venson an e-mail: <vivi1561@ms48.hinet.net> Venson's English is limited, so keep your message short and simple. BTW, zetaking is in Taiwan for a week, so maybe you can ask him to take the treads to the States and he'll ship them to you from California. It'll save you on international shipping cost.

I just talked to Venson on the phone. Anyway, he says he must have deleted your recent message thinking it was spam. Here's another e-mail address that you can use to contact Venson: <vivi1561@hotmail.com>
BTW, Venson is selling the PB-06 Volt Panzer replacement treads for NT$880 (US$ 27). On the other hand, he noticed that you're an administrator on RJ Forum and said that he'll just give you the treads for free. Besides, he doesn't like the hassle of figuring out how to get international payments. In any case, you'll have to handle the shipping costs. I was thinking doing you the favor of just slipping the treads in an envelope (that is, if the post office allows this) and mailing it to California. It shouldn't cost that much.
I asked Venson how he made the replacement treads. He actually made a steel mold for the rubber treads. Other sellers' replacement treads are made of silicon, but Venson's treads are made of actual rubber. The quality is much superior.
Well, you better get in touch with Venson.
Good luck.

jwm You're most welcome.
Venson called me and mentioned that he had received your e-mail. Anyway, just send Venson 10 USD and he'll mail you the PB-06 replacement treads via EMS. He's not charging you anything for the treads.
Not only does Venson have one of the largest Japanese diecast robot toy collection in the world, he is also a really nice fellow. Recently, he's helped get me an MIB PB-01 Dangard Ace Rancher for a steal away price.
Well, I'm glad you're getting the replacement treads. I've yet to buy a complete Popy DX Voltes V set. I've always wanted one since I was a kid. Perhaps Venson can help me in that department.

I heard from Venson this morning. You guys rock! I am just about doing flip flops I'm so delighted. Thanks.
I've seen the pictures from Vence's collection. Utterly astonishing. I'd love to see it in person.
