lanatir: Beautiful work. Mechagodzilla has been on my radar for a while. You moved it a notch closer to the kill zone. If you don't mind- share with us a little of your photogaphy kung fu for it is strong.

Another note- I just realized this is the first time I saw this one, theGD45. It's totally different from the GD 57. I saw a couple on e-bay, and they're not expensive. How much metal is in this beast?

Thanks guys. I would do GD98 if I had it The GD45 was on offer at my local retailer (in Malaysia) for way less than USD50 Can't remember exactly how much since I bought it quite some time back. As for my setup, I'm using a 300D (Digital Rebel) with a Tamron macro. 2 speedlites on either side shooting through homemade softboxes and commanded from the cam wirelessly.

Those are some sweet pictures! I just picked up a Kiryu myself recently and this is a kick ass toy!
I think I am the only Kiryu fan who is not into the black version at all (not sure why. I guess I'm more of a purist than I though).
JWM, the toys are heavy. Most of the diecast are in the legs and torso. Solid ratchet joints in the legs. Even the triple doors to the Mazer bay are metal. Well worth the bucks, IMO.

That chrome version is way cool. What is the number for the chrome version? I want a GD 45, and I like the chrome best. Is it GD45M?

Well now you have no choice but to get gigan too! help! I've been a Godzilla fan from the start. I remember going to see King Kong vs Godzilla when it first came out (1963). Here's what's weird for a toy geek: the only Godzilla figure I've ever owned was the Aurora plastic model kit from the early 1960's. And that thing was built, painted, and lost to the void before I got to the eighth grade. I have zillions of Japanese toys of characters from shows I've never seen. No Godzilla. I will soon own the GD 45, which I am guessing is from a 2003 film release. I'm not too crazy about the 1975 design. That still skips a lot of Godzilla history. And it still leaves me with no true Godzilla figure. So- For those who have some knowledge on the matter- what would be the definitive Godzilla figure to get if you were going to get only one. I'd like to get one in scale with the GD 45 figure, and of a size to fit in with a shelf full of SOC's. I don't want a 12" giant, or something. Who makes the best one? There isn't a Gokin GD version is there? I'm getting into dangerous territory here. Look what happens to people when they get hooked on vinyl. It ain't pretty, man. help! JWM
