So I just got my hands on a near complete GC-04 Albegas. I was totally skeptical when I heard that the Blue (Beta) robot's plastic is superior than the Matchbox Voltron II's plastic. But it truly is less fragile and more sturdy. I was able to move the limbs and transform it without cracking anything. I still was very cautious when moving everything, but even when extremely cautious with the Matchbox version, it literally cracks and crumbles when slightly moving anything. I move the arms, and the shoulders already have hairline cracks forming under the plastic; that's how annoyingly fragile it is. I'm able to truly make the midsection of Albegas with the Beta robot in its thinnest form. I couldn't fully push in the sides due to breakage in my first set. So I basically have (3) different Beta robots now: - Broken Matchbox Blue Robot that is a permanent/full-time torso.
- 100% Unused Minty Matchbox Blue Robot that is permanent/full-time mini robot.
- Partially complete unbroken but fully transformable Bandai GC-04 Blue Robot (missing 1 firing fist)
I'm getting so addicted to this toy and quite possibly thinking of acquiring all (6) modes of combined Albegas as (6) separate full-time pieces, plus (1) full set of the uncombined trio of separate robots.
