It's true...they came out here, no one bought them and now they're almost impossible to get. Really. Really really impossible.

The Australian dollar is so bad that all of the above cost well over AU$200 at the least...even loose...if you can find them.

Soul of Chogokin prices are off the planet...I literally thought the reason they were so highly priced was because they are quite large, but they're not. Thank god I only want Liger, Doublas, Garada and Poseidon...but even then I have to sell my first born child to get them, very nearly.

I joined this forum to see if I could meet honest collectors willing to sell or trade with me because I can't get anything here and ebay is a joke now it is so commercialised, comerc, com well known.

I found a Godaikin DYJUPITER at the markets last week, empty with no accessories (missing top dome) and kinda beat up....the guy wanted AU$90 for it. I grumbled and carried on till he went down to AU$70 and then when I went of to find an ATM I came back and he said he sold it to someone else for the same price.
So I calmly picked up the diecast battle of the planets (mark's) jet (Can't remember the Gatchaman name for this) he had for AU$5 and asked him what it was, he said he didn't know so I paid my money and walked off.
You have NO IDEA how hard it was to not turn around and tell him how stoopid he was or to at least dance off clicking my heels.

Yes it was a nasty thought for me but I was going totally monkey poo by this stage.

So It's HARD to be a collector in Australia, worse if your female. Even G1 Transformers are hard to get these days. Stoopid Australia.

Yes, but America has a zillion more people...it's like star wars figs....you havd a zillion more buyers in the eighties so vintage star wars figs can be found everywhere at markets and stores etc.....not so easy here...here they are found in the bottom of sandpits..ha ha.
Seriously tho. I have a friend in Ohio which we all know is the arse end of America and he reckons he's seen Jumbo's and die cast Godaikins around in the last two years but doesn't know anything about them. I've told him to buy everything he sees and I'll reimburse him but he wants to expand his already ginormous collection.
Anyway...I just found out that the blue knight robot I got for a song is a rare Tomy Z-Knight so I'm happy.
Going to look at the sales boards now. Got a bun in the oven (my first) so have to stop collecting in July so have to buy, buy, buy now.

These guys are right. I have NEVER in my ten some years of collecting, seen a Godaikin, Jumbo or any Popy item in a retail or even a resale sight. The only exception would be when they released the Voltron line. Star Wars crap is a dime a dozen. The problem is, even retailers can use eBay, and theyd rather sell them there.

We've gotten to the point where eBay is the only place to buy or sell your stuff anymore. I mean, why even set up a store if you can just sell the stuff on eBay?

Yep, you're right. We've got it made here in the USA. I can't walk down my street, oops, I mean drive my monsterous SUV down the street without running down mountains of MIB 2in1 Raideens and piles of carded 12back Star Wars figures. Heck, Im relining my attic with Blue Snaggletooths (Snaggleteeth?) right now. Oops, broke another one, tenth one today. Yeah, there's plenty of 30 year old toys gathering dust all over this damn country! And don't even get me started on those damn SOCs! They're a damn nuisance, showing up everywhere, one after another, on and on, like a damn army of Energizer bunnies. My neighbor's cat got crushed by falling Garada last week! I mean, you'd think there'd be a challenge in collecting toys made for a small island nation on the other side of the world, but not here in the good ole USA! Land of Plenty! Missle firing Boba Fetts for everyone! WooHoo!

Seriously, you want easy? Collect Dirt. You want fun? collect toys!

When I was a kid the local super market had the ST Godaikins in the check out lane right above the candy. Thta's where i got the Daidenjin and the ST Dynaman. However that was about 25 years ago, and it was certainly the only super market that I'd seenthis done in. Oh yeah, and they had Diakron, and Convertors toys above dairy coolers. Don't ask me why, they just did.
