I've also noticed how prices are skyrocketing. I've just seen a boxed Shogun Warriors Grendizer sell for $1,134, and the box was not even mint!!
And a boxed Grendizer saucer (no robot figure) sold for $1,325. At least this was the Japanese version, and I suspect that the solo saucer might be harder to find than the combo set. But this still seems a little high.
A lot of high end stuff is selling for well over a thousand. That's a lot of cash to be changing hands. Is this a sign of a good economy?

I know that it is a sign that the U.S. dollar is shrinking in value..... ;(

Hollywoodbots has relisted the Mekanda Technical Gassin set. It went on auction today, and it's already over $2500. Box is in crummy shape too.

i'm mentioned this before on this board - watch for scalpers. they ARE coming to the japanese robot world in droves, as these things we collect are worth some serious $$$.
i was in the market for a MIB LIONBOT last year and i literally watched the SAME THREE fly around the world on ebay, with ridiculously high prices for their condition. There is a large community of US collectors who buy things on ebay only to re-sell.
I've also noticed the Euro-US$ ratio. I would say its a good combo of both...

It's sad when this hobby gets too commercialized, people should be buying these things to keep, not to resell and make the prices skyrocket.

Hopefully the jumpers will get tired and abandon the hobby altogether, just like what happened in the comics scene. And I hope I'm still around to see that faithful day ;D
