knock offs are very good for some customization too, like the battle damaged versions ^_^

On the last one, the Voltron with the V instead of the Star...can anyone give some information on it? I've been asked about it, and I have no answers because I don't know anything about it. What was it called (sold under, name wise) who made it (company wise, I know it was made in Taiwan). Stuff like that. Thanks.

That Voltron there looks almost identical to the first diecast Trendmaster Golion diecast figure; except That one there has a "V" in his torso- and the collars (beneath their heads)on the red lion and the green lion are yellow instead of chrome; and those two lions don't have "fins" on their buttz. This one here's my Trendmaster Golion. I've seen other Trendmaster Golions whose green and red lions each have grey tails which join those lions as "arms" to Golion's body... ...however, my green and red lions each have black tails-- is that a flaw, or is it rare? Thanks! ;D zozo-Magengar

I'ts actually very different from the trendmasters version. Also, I think the trendmasters voltron was the only diecast one that was ever made in china

Agreed, I own the Trendmasters one, and the box is quite heavy compared to some of the others. I bought mine at Toys R Us directly (still has the orange tag and all) and never opened it, but I could tell differences through the celephane window. The fins on the green and red, and yellow was more yellow than orange yellow like the original. That and weapons were gold colored instead of chrome. I'm always looking to acquire more knowledge of the toys, even bootlegs to answer the questions I get asked due to my website. Boy howdy do I get some repetitive questions, but once in a while, I get a doozy. I got asked about it with a picture and with the V on the belt area instead of the star, I knew it was a boot leg, but the person wanted to know more about it. So, I came over here and looked around and saw the same robot so I hoped someone could point out the details of it. Thanks for your time in reading and to whomever answers.

Hey, I didn't realize you're new here... Welcome to RJ, bro! Your "v" Voltron there, Hold on to it. I don't know much about what the other members have seen and know concerning these Voltron/Golion figures; but personally, I've only seen That version there many Years ago when Voltron figures first appeared; and I haven't seen many of Those ever since. zozo-Magengar Agreed, I own the Trendmasters one, and the box is quite heavy compared to some of the others. Well, sadly it's not mine. I'd like to have it as I think certain knock offs are cool to showcase the differences between legit and bootleg. I'll let the person know it's a good find he got, but if he ever wants to sell, that he needs to keep my email address handy. lol Thanks for your assistance.

Thank you VERY much! The owner is in negotiations with me for selling it. I've offered 100 with shipping included in the price. Red and Green lions are from a different set, not this one. One of the wings doesn't want to stay on, but is included.
No box either, but has a lot of the weapons, etc.
What do ya'll think...good offer for what he's got? I don't want to rip him off, but at the same time, I don't want to over pay.

I don't think that dairugger is a knock off but a licensed thaiwanese version

I've been logging Golion variations for a while now. In addition to the version with the V in the belt instead of the star, there are also versions with a solid Diamond shape instead of the star and some where the star is upside down.

K2Cliffhanger ST mini Dairugger XV was the same one that I had when I was a kid. I saw JoshB review at CollectionDX yesterday night and I remember that my old Dairugger separted into many small pieces. Seeing that toy really brings back memories. But I wanna know if someone has a bootleg version of the small golion VoltronIII. Should be similar or smaller in size compared to the matchbox and popy version. The fist shoots out but the lion head on the feet doesn't. A cheaper version where there is two red lion head fist is the other one I can remember. If anyone has those, please post some pictures so I can see these again. Thankyou.

The one in the Joshb review used to be mine. Like it says in the review its pretty rare and the one I had bought was the only one I had ever seen sold on ebay. Best thing I like about them Taiwanese robots is the box art as well as some changes in colors. Fit and finish is another story.

Here's a plastic medium sized Voltron I own, He's Called, "New Century Daimond Mars" on the Card. Made in China. ...i recently scored a similar Voltron. it is near-identical to the DX version in transformation, only it's small- maybe 6-8-inches tops. the lions all have yellow legs. is this a boot, or did matchbox make one like this?

I think it depends. Some of the Korean and Chinese KO for transformers are very very interesting. for instance there is a cool Korean KO of Victory saber with a Bioman shield and sword.
Or some of the more interesting retooled toys like Mechagodzilla Grimlock.

I think This one (below) is one of the Coolest small Voltron boots I've ever seen. It looks good in detail, even if de tails on de lions all happen to be yellow. zozo-Magengar Here's a plastic medium sized Voltron I own, He's Called, "New Century Daimond Mars" on the Card. Years ago I believe I saw a Golion Knock with a photo cover box. Does anybody remember that one? It was similer to the Daltron I posted I think. What was it called...Doltron?

Well, the seller agreed to sell me the Lion King V Voltron set he has. I had to "outbid" another person, so I ended up paying 109 with shipping for it. I know, I got taken a little on it, but I wanted the item for a couple of reasons. So, once I get it, I'll post pics detailing some of the things.
