Yep. I just tie 'em on a shoestring and off into the world I go. ;D I wouldn't do that to an authentic Chogokin. But the knockoffs for sure enjoy the ride around my collar.  zozo-Magengar On second thought, the SG-01 Tetsujin is hard to ignore....So clean, so big, so blue. No, Golion still. Golion. Funny thing is, it wasn't until years after the two Golions that my brothers and I pretty much played with everyday until their demise did I realize they were both Lionbots. We'd pit the Lionbots against TF Omega Supreme, casting him as our "Ro-beast" while watching Volton on TV. I didn't actually upgrade to a "legit" Golion until much later on as an adult collector, but the memories came flooding back the moment my fingers touched cold zinc. It did look a LOT smaller than I remember though haha. In general, I find that the Golion is bigger, heavier, sturdier and less fiddly while having good articulation when compared to pretty much all the other DX Godaikins/Chogokins. Easily the most playable out of the bunch... Magengar, you seriously wear your Gokins as pendants, or am I just gullible? |

I never have any Godaikin as a kid - But I remember always wanting to have the Godsigma - so I believe that was my favorite one. Goggle V was cool too.
My favorite SOC is Ideon - this guy has the size and heft of a classic Godaikin!

Hey Demizer, do you have any photos of the nesting weapons for Gardian? I only own a loose version with no accessories, and I never before heard that the weapons can nest too!! This is a surprise to me. Thanks.
For faves, in terms of strictly Godaikin-released bots, it has to be Combattler. For SOCs, Daiku Maryu.

i think t28 is the best but i think it is a subconscious thing! we all tend to say t28 is the best just because it is the biggest!
but zambot has almost the same size, it is heavier, combines and has lots of projectiles. i would say zambot represents best all the qualities that define japanese toys!
zambot has to be the best gokin ever!

For me GoLion/Voltron is my favorite as far as the old school bots go. Simply classic. As far as the SOC pick, I have to go with Dancouga. He was just such an improvement over the original..... and the sick attention to detail and design, not to mention the gigundah size ;D...I just love it. |

I'll say Sun Vulcan since I just got it in the mail today off ebay and it's my first authentic Godaikin. (Actually Golion is still my favorite...I salivated over my friends' Golion for years until I got the Trendmasters diecast version in the 90's for myself).
For favorite SOC...Dancouga!!! Because he's big, looks badass and can transform from robot to elephant to tank to super robot. Come on! What else could you want in a toy! (Voltes V runs a close second place).

My favorite GoDaiKin was always Combattra  I saved paper route money for months just to get him  (and it was definately the sentimantality from the comic book that made him a MUST have...just like the Dangard DX I saw in the import shop the day after I plunked down on Combattra...'twas back to the paper route and more months of saving  ) |

My favorite Godaikin would have to be GoLion. One of my favorite toys ever, actually.
Favorite SOC is a little harder to choose though, since there are so many different flavors. I like the simplicity of the Go Nagai bots, but the engineering of the combining ones is remarkable. So I think it's an even tie between GX-01R and GX-03 for me.

My favorites are my T28's- the Godaikin and the Chogokin(GA63). Hard to choose, but thinking about what I'd try to grab in case of a fire, and I'll have go with these two. ..um, but if I have to pick an SOC..Grandizer.

Hi,
New member here. Great site and great topic.
I will have to say that my favorite Godaiking will have to be Gardian. I always wanted one as a kid, but never got it until ~20 odd years later from eBay. This toy was never played with, and I enjoy looking at it in its box.
Although I love my Mazingers, my favorite SOC will have to be SPT Layzner. This second entry from Bandai's new SOC Spec expansion series is fully amazing. It is just a clear example of how an adult collectable toy should be like. I just hope that Bandai will be able to add more super robots to its SOC Spec line, specially Groizner-X.
