I received this morning an awesome piece : Godaikin Dancougar. It's from 1985, it's not a Transformers release (it's from Bandai), and it's a combiner. All four robots have a fair amount die-cast, are more articulated than the average G1. 1st robot (head) turns into a jet/eagle, complete with retractable landing gear. 2nd robot (foot) turns into a tank and a jaguar, complete with rotatable turret. 3rd robot (foot) turns into a tank and a lion, complete with rotatable turret and front cannons. 4th robot (torso) turns into a tank and a mammoth, complete with elevatable turret, rotatable cannons (4), moveable tusks, ears, etc. All four combine WITH NO EXTRA PARTS to form Dancougar. Most amazing Headmasters ever if you want my opinion, and Dancougar has super poseable arms and legs can be posed too at the hip (walking pose with a straight leg though). Now I look at all the G1 combiners... and they look very pale in comparison. Dancougar's proportions may be odd, but the engineering easily surpasses what was done in G1 (early G1 at least). I'll upload pictures shortly, but you can have a look here : www.robot-japan.com/Gallery/BandaiA...r/Dancougar.asp

Dude, if you think that's cool you should really check out the Soc (Soul of Chogokin) Dancouga. It wipes the floor with the old godaikin version.......

I already have the GX-13, and tell you what. I prefer the original, if only for the fact that the head actually locks in in combined mode, unlike the SOC. Plus, it's much less fragile.

Yeah, I remember the oldie but goodie. The head was enormous when compared to the rest of the body. Good memories.

The head reminds me a bit of G1 Doubledealer...

i recently was able to obtain a bootleg godaikin dancougar (the packaging was friggin power rangers!).. but at a cheap price, it seems to be a good enough replica for me. the big catch is only the mammoth and eagle are included.
question is, how do you properly interlock the eagle head to the body? ive been trying to figure it out, but i may be missing something.. what i just did is use the mammoth's tusks to keep the head in place.. any advice? website? thanks.

Say, I've just got hold of the head and body parts of the Godaikin Dancougar and I was wondering if anyone had some scans of the instructions they could either post here or email me.
I must say that I'm very impressed, nice lot of diecast etc.. It is very Gobot like.
Also, does anyone have a spare couple of feet I could buy?
Cheers.
