11 discs-65 episodes...
Well, as far as how it hold up... It's watchable in a wierd kind of way. I should say it took me about 5 episodes of Voltron or Thundercats to give up on them, but I'm still pluggin away with Tranzor. Voice acting/writing is CHEESY! But, like I said it's still Maz Z on the screen so it's good..
Also odd: About episode 7, the launch sequence for the pilder was from Great Maz. The to and from commercial stills are also Great maz.
Name changes: Kojii= Tommy Sayaka= Jessica DrHell=DrDemon Ashura= Devilene BossBorot: BoBoBot Jr(?)= Toad

For us US fans, the different voices they used in the UK is worth the price of admission. No offense, but sometimes a British accent sounds girly here in the US. Not sure what you mean by this... The original Transformers series' used the same voice track as the US and the Headmasters dub was done by some guys in Singapore (or was it Taiwan) and had nothing to do with the UK (until it was released over here as a quirky extra on the official Headmasters Dvd release a year or so ago)....

I thought the UK had a different set of voice actors. I was told this by a transcollector that brought some PAL tapes in for xfer at a video store I once worked at. He said a few characters even had different names (like US Sparky was UK Sparkle). I never heard differently until now, of course it never really came up before now. I watched headmasters(we sold it there) and presumed it used the UK voice talent.

1- Robotech; which led to my discovery of Macross
2- Neon Genesis Evangelion. I like the design of the EVAs (and yes; I know that they aren't technically mecha, but still). The show was well animated, and the story was INCREDIBLE.
3- Voltron (lion force), AKA Golion. Not so wild about it now, but it made a huge impact when I first saw it as a kid/teen, so I still have a nostalgic connection to the show.
Honorable Mention- Gundam 08th MS Team. Great animation, gritty, real-feeling action scenes, and a great story.

Hey..."Johnny Socko and his Flying Robot"...anyone remember this kitschy gem of an import on syndicated TV circa 1977? What was the origin of this show?
