The reason I am starting this thread is because I recently got a Matchbox Miniature Vehicle Voltron I and A Popy Chogokin ST GB-73 Dairugger. Bought the Popy from a local store and got the Matchbox version of EBAY. I honestly didn't think a 25$ bid will get me a MIB. I've lost a couple of auction the last couple of weeks proior to getting a GB-73, but I have one now, even though I didn't really want it. I also wanted to try out how to post photos in threads as I've never done it before. Hope it works. After getting the Matchbox version, I just wanted to point out some of the differences I found between them. Most notable differences in that the Matchbox version didn't have the sword and the legs doesn't have the missle projectiles. Heck the arms doesn't shoot out. Where there are stickers applied on the Matchbox version, the two little circle on Voltrons legs and the two yellow square on the waist, the Popy version has paint instead. Both have the same sculpt but if I was to give these to a kid,he would probably like the Popy version better because it had accessories and gimmicks. Matchbox version, I can see why that after 20 years, it really hasn't gone up in value.

Sad but true. The Matchbox was the better known here in the US, and while it served it's purpose...the Popy is far batter. As always.

Back in the 70s some kid launched a Battlestar Galactica missle down his buddies throat and killed him. So projectiles were banned for a time. Luckily Bandai America ignored that crap when they released the Godaikins.

Thanks superfarterv...comparisond like this are always interesting and can give the uninitiated (read ME!! most of the time) some idea of the different versions available...mind you, in this case I'd probably just buy both if the prices were right...Dairugger is a very cool design. ;D

Maybe the Japanese hated this version so much they put it into the BB set for the kids to have target practice on....hehe. What some dumb people forget (the people in power a lot of the time ) is that it wasn't the rocket or toys fault...it was the STUPID KIDS and their equally UNCARING parents that were at fault.....

Yep... some (not all) Parents were smart enough to Breed, but then they were too damn Lazy to ready the toy's Age Recommendations label to see if the toy and its smaller parts would be safe enough for the child... Then sh*t hits da fan, and they cry "Law $uit" thus blaming the toy manufacturers, and try to sue for Dollar$$$$$$$, instead of acknowledging their Own LACK OF Responsibility. zozo-Magengar What some dumb people forget (the people in power a lot of the time ) is that it wasn't the rocket or toys fault...it was the STUPID KIDS and their equally UNCARING parents that were at fault..... And also that rule "NO KID LEFT BEHIND".... so i guess every kids pass and go to the next level even if they dont make the grade or learn something... how stupid can that be. and its just for the reason that they cant bully other kids if they repeat the same level and he/she will be older than the other kids. sorry for the rambling, i just hate to see some kids going to fifth grade without even learning how to read or right :/ and... Congrats to that purchase bro.... for $25 bucks, thats a nice deal ;D

Man that, No Kid Left Behind thing sounds hella' creepy. People can be dumb, but they saw the light and finally un-banned the projectile. However I've noticed recent US released toys have had some extraordinarily weak rocket launchers. Whats up with that?

Again, the weak launchers are for preventing serious injuries. Especially if some dumbass kid happens to be looking directly at the launcher right in the nozzle. ;D Heck, some kids would even Try to stretch the springs out much further for stronger fire-power! <LOL> My Grendy KO "Galactico" gokin can shoot its fists clear across my room almost 3ft away. I'll bet if i fire the fists at close range, I could punch a dog right in da friggin noze. ;D zozo-Magenger Man that, No Kid Left Behind thing sounds hella' creepy.
