Hi, How big is the difference in price percentage between a godaikin and its popy version in general ? assuming they are all complete and new or mint in box. Tx

That is one heck of a loaded question. Depends on the piece you are talking about. Even then it can depend on the collector and current demand or rarity of the said piece.

Although it varies from piece to piece, as sketcher mentioned, I think it's fair to say that the price differential, in general, tends to be significant. Enough of a difference that I didn't bother with any of the Japanese releases and focused just on Godaikins. Except for Changerobo and Flash King, of course, which were never released in North America. Saved myself several hundreds of dollars over 15 DX gokin purchases, if not thousands...

Yes. For instance a DX Tetsujin will be double in a Japanese box approx. Combattler in Box is off the charts expensive. As the Godaikins make date gets older this spread is more apparent.

I recently had a hair raising experience at yahoo japan. I tried to bid popy battle fever combination 2 and think it started at 10.000 yen. At the last minutes, the bidding just kept on jumping all the way to more than 157.000 yen ( around US$ 1370) . To me a battle fever at that price is way too crazy and if ever there was a godaikin version of BFC2, could it reach even half that price?
From what my recent experience told me, the difference can multiply three or maybe four times if it is in yahoo japan.

Japanese version all the way! The godaikin version basically is re-issue version of the original Japanese version. Thats especially true on the VOLTES V and COMBATTRA and few others thats from the 70's and early 80's version sets. The GODAIKIN made in to US shore around 1982 so anything sets original release before that is an RE-ISSUES from Japan. Thats the reason why they went alot higher then the GODAIKIN verison did. Lets put this way. Its an OG (original issue) version so anything its OG command a high price tag and its very important to collectors about that. The Japanese box set look alot better than GODAIKIN set tho
