I'm pretty sure this is quite different than the Godaikin/ Japanese sets. The link is to Popy Europe. Often Popy Europe has Taiwanese made toys or non Japanese makers. At that time you could really feel the quality difference.
Also, see the joints on the arm robots? you will see the lack of chrome, it is gray plastic. That was anoter cost cutting example of how the toys, molds, and packaging became cheapened with time.
Quality controll is iffy....

I respectfully disagree. I am a proud owner of one of the french-boxed Golions. It's just the same as the Japanese Golion. Chromes, details, weapons, paints, plastics. All the same. In this very case, it's just a different box. FYI, no grey plastic except the red and green lions' tails! Hope this helps.!
