Just picked up a nice one of these guys, and I'm looking for some advice. The torso part of the robot endo skeleton has some gears behind a clear panel. These look like they should move/rotate/mesh, but I can't find out how to make them do so...
I can't read the instructions, but even if I could, they don;t appear to show this feature.
Can anyone shed some light on it?

There should be two skinny silver things beside his legs. The end of it looks like a slotted screwdriver. Insert into the black slot beside the clear panel. Turn...

Thanks Jeff.....you know, curiosity took over and I took the chest apart, and discovered exactly what you said.
The cogs turn by friction from a rubber wheel on the end of the key shaft, turned through 90 degrees to turn the gears. The reason mine wasn't working was that age had made the rubber wheel shiny, so there was no friction.
I could have replaced the rubber easily enough, but now I know what it should do, and know nothing is actually broken, I'm happy to leave it alone.

Also be very careful removing the chest and leg peices,if done wrong or they are brittle you could crack them.also when I installed the metal inner peices and the leg flames I used a jewelers screwdriver on the screwed parts to make it easier to get in.Great toy one of my all time favorites.

I know what you mean about the leg/body parts. I found it surprisingly brittle. Luckily mine's not harmed in any way, and as for jeweler's screwdrivers.... They're one of the best investments you can make! I've got about 5 sets, I pick 'em up whenever I see them at a Dollar Store!
Back to the old Tetsuwan....I bought a couple of the Bandai ones a year or two ago - the small one with the endo skeleton, and the larger one with the working 'computer'. Two great toys, and they cost me $6 and $13 respectively....
