Can anyone please let me know which toy line came first "Shogun warriors" or "Godaikin". The only reason I ask is because an Ebayer has a Combattra V for sale in the Shogun box; but they are saying it predates Bandai/Popy Godaikin line. Is that true? Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the info dragonclaw...this helps out. would make it more rare than my blue box Combattra. If so I'm going to bid on it.

I'm not sure on rarity...I do know that the blue box Combattra was specialty store only since it was the window box versions that were pretty easily found at TRU, KB and other toy stores...and the Shogun version was a mass retail item, but was towards the end of the line IIRC

Thanks for the knowledge dragonclaw. I actually have the brown box and blue box versions. I'm still bidding on it for my collection, it should make a fine addition.

Yes Shogun combattra's, the large combiner, came first. It is much more rare than either Godaikin. In fact, it is just a shade more common than the Japanese version but very very difficult to find completed. So many of them were used and loved.
The individual boxed parts to the DX combattler are a bit easier to find.
Just as said before, the blue/black cover art Godaikin Version 1 is more challenging to find than the window box version.

P.S. Memory, if working, places Shogun C. at 1978/9 and then the Godaikin version 1 was '83/4. The window box was '84/5 or so
