To answer your questions:

I think those Japanese packaged versions in that TBDX thread came out after the 70's Shogun line. I say that because of the funky stickers that are on them. I remember seeing a blister carded generic line of these with those same funky stickers at Children's Palace during the mid-80's robot craze.

Hey, thanks a lot!! I've never seen before those boxes, but looks like those were made after the Shogun Warriors line. The stickers seems like the Mini Godaikin ones, and why use the "Shogun" title on them? Maybe did Mattel create his own 3" molds and then Popy/Bandai use them to made the Mini Godaikin and those boxed figures? Or is there any chance that Popy / Bandai make the molds first and then sent to Mattel? Well, did Popy made the 3" figures before Mattel? I remember seeing a blister carded generic line of these with those same funky stickers at Children's Palace during the mid-80's robot craze. Mini Godaikin maybe?: www.go-boom.com/images/mini-godaikin_17.jpgwww.go-boom.com/images/mini-godaikin_leopaldon.jpg
