This figure seems to have been glossed over in the presence of all the Specs/HCMs/Revoltechs out there, which is a real pity, because it's definitely its own animal and a worthy purchase, I think. An offshoot of Bandai's SIC line, the Movie Realization EVA-01 has its own share of problems that it shares with its SIC brothers ... mainly loose joints. Mercifully, all of the loose joints on the figure are ball joints, meaning a quick coat of nail polish or future floor wax fixes them right up. It comes with an assortment of F-type parts, for those who are tired of plain "Vanilla" EVA-01. Of course, there are enough sculpted details and differences on the MR EVA-01 that its already pretty notably different from any of the other Evangelion offerings out there. I wasn't at all disappointed with the Movie Realization EVA-01, and it looks great with all of its sculted details, satin paint job, and translucent green accents. I know everyone is sick of Evas by now (hell, I know I am), but this guy is worth a look at the very least for bringing something a little different to the table.

so its roughly the same size as the specs. thanks for the link quinjester. still contemplating if going to get this release. ive started an eva collection just recently under the SOC spec. this line is kinda promising but the non diecast content kinda pulled me back.

So it's out then! Thanks for sharing quinjester!
I was intrigued when I heard the news about this figure - mainly because I believe that this line fits the biomechanical beast nature of the EVAs better than shiny gokin representation.
Seems like the poseability is good - but like any SIC derivative, it's demons will be loose joint overtime and repeated posing. But as stated, it can be pretty easily fixed with nail polish or the like. So the only weapon it comes with are the pallet rifle and the progressive knife? I was kinda hoping for the gatling gun!
I believe there's similar thread in the general toys section, so MODs may want to merge the both threads.

Looking at the the pictures. Eva really looks like the armor alien warriors from Halo 1-3 suited up. (Don't ask me which one because I never played Halo) especially when Eva has the mouth open.

I just got mine in. Its a very cool figure. I wish the joints were a little tighter. My Kaiyodo Eva1 will always have a special place in my heart for just being awesome. The evangelion movie realization figure seems to resemble a little more realistic approach. I am starting to feel like Eva has been overly marketed. I still like the series, but its turned into a Anime cash cow.

Yeah, a super cash cow indeed, causing me to pass on this release. Too much Eva indeed. But it does look nice.
I did get my cheaper fix on the F-Type design from the Revoltech, so I am good.

Nail polish and floor wax.... LOL. We need to have that and super glue for our "tools of the hobby" list.
P.S. I've found that the U-stick Paste glue is a great tool too if your stickers come loose.

Man! No wonder mine doesn't come with the "NERV" logo on the shoulder blades.
Those custom decals are awesome, Vic.
Too bad the joints on this release deteriorate too quickly, plus the F-Type armor is too taxing on the joints. Awesome release otherwise, the best Eva rendition I have ever seen!

It sure is!! the detail on this is awesome but your right about the loose joints especially the armor which some parts just wont stay on for nothing and I wish it had a few more accessories. Still I wish they did the rest of the line in this style!
