I like the sketching and Gbp leg armor on the Starscream. The Mayan Springer has nice details and is a pretty cool theme. The power master Huffer is fresh.

All are good ! - The starscream sketch shows you take care of perspective and volume. However, be carefull with the joints parts (shoulders, hip...) ex : you gave details with the pectoral missile launchers but you hide how are the hip attached to the body. For example, gundam design got usually a kind of "skirt, to hide the hip joints. Choose the concept you want to give to your character : if it's like in the transformers animated tv show, robots are made of metal, but they are a little bit stretch-able. It's more cartoon-looked. We don't give importance to the technical parts or engineering... only the design, the profile and the good looking count. It has to match with the character. - Huffer got good props and you dispatched the colors to create a true identity of this character. Be carefull with the right arm : look at its elbow. The way you gave the perspective to its forearm and hand handling the gun, it means the right "biceps" is twice big as the left one... the left foot has to be on the same level plane. Choose the optical lense you want to give dynamism to the posture. Ex : Capcom character are often draw with a wide-angle lens. You see the top of the feet and almoste below the nose or the head. You create a truck-robot... so it's a big boy ! the vanishing point has to be not so far from the subject... - Neocaledonian's Mayan Springer... my favorite. You focus on a scene, you put colors, fx... you tell us an history. Try to choose an angle to your light and your shadow : you will gain some volume. The colors of the burning temple below, need to be less saturated : it will give some height to the character. It's better to not signed, smack-in-the-middle of your drawings, unless it gives a sense. I hope it helps a little... excuse my french because... I am french. Ha ha !. I am drawing too, so... you can have a hunch of my art with pictures I posted before : robotjapan.proboards12.com/index.cgi?board=SOC&action=display&thread=12750&page=4

Thank you for the thoughtful feedback and advice lejam. Got to confess that the crayon background was a bit of an afterthought, but your comments were spot on and quite helpful. Took a peek at your sketching thread and was suitably impressed: nice robot pieces with a clear sense of volume and presence. They remind me of some of the character sheets commonly featured in Japanese game design books. Coldiron, better get started thinking on a theme for the next FD, I'd suggest something Halloween or Monsters related .

I just remembered this poll is closed. Good work everyone. Thanks for the votes everyone.
Thanks for the feedback. I was hoping these fundraws would turn into sort of a way for us to work together to become better robot artists, and artists in general. I do these fundraws to force me to practice so that some day I end up being decent.
Mechaboy1 has be generous enough to send me a prize to award to the next fundraw. So the next one will be a real competition.
So will the next FD be Oct. Nov? Or Nov. Dec?
I want wingseyemd to be in charge of choosing the next fundraw. He and I tied the previous one, but he was not around to help decide the Fd. So since it was all my doing, I want him to take the next one. Its only fair. I pm'ed him about this. So we will wait on him to decide and organize the next threads.

October to December I think, just like last year the holidays tend to make everyone busy, having it till December will give the guys time to come up with their stuff.

I talked to wingseyemd and he will not be able to join in this fundraw or help organize it, but he made a suggestion that I will put into the pot and let everyone contribute to the ideas.
