My three latest "Black Versions:" SaiDaiOh, GekitoujaWolf, and Dekawing Robo.
BUILD UP! DEKAWING ROBO! I tried to get as much detail as I could into the face. One thing I really have to fix: need to find some clear nail polish or something and add it to the thigh joints where they get stuck into the knees. They're really loose and pop out all the time. I also need to go back and add some details to the Jet Magnums and Patwings 4 & 5 (the feet). But overall, this was a fun (and easy) Black Version to do: I didn't have to spray paint anything!
SAIDAIOH, KENZAN! I need to fix the gold I put on the shield, it's starting to flake off. And this is more of a "Gunmetal Grey" version than a black version-- I had run out of Metallic Black spray paint at the time, but I was impatient to do it anyway. And I think it turned out okay.
And now my pride and joy: GekiToujaWolf.
Okay, not the most conventional version, as you might notice that his left leg is GekiCheetah and not GekiJaguar. I managed to find GekiTiger and GekiCheetah for sale after I got GekiWolf, so it worked out.
GTW says "prepare for an ass-whuppin' of EPIC PROPORTIONS."
It just looks so damn good, if I do say so myself.
Of all the model toy kits I've done, GekiTouja/GekitoujaWolf is by far the most poseable and the most fun.
RIDER-- UH, WOLF KIIIIIIIIIICK!
Minipurafection. Well, not *quite* perfect; they made the lower legs quite a bit larger than the rest of the body, proportionally. And GekiTouja is a head taller than SaiDaiOh instead of a head shorter, for some reason. But overall? "GekiToujaWolf... WIN!" Seriously, even if you're not going to recolor it, the candy toy model kit of Gekitouja is a fantastic value.
Here's all of them on display with some of my DX Black Versions, along with GekiRinTouja and Engine Daishogun.
