I have one built and it looks very nice unpainted. maybe some clear or flat coat depending on the look your going for. Really its only black, white, and translucent pink. The only thing you may really want to paint is the anttena as the sticker is the kit comes with looks rather cheap and out of place. Also, if you use the decals it came with, putting a top coat will help protect those decals from falling off.

if you look in the lotus army thread he has the unicorn gundam unpainted you will see it looks fantastic. The only thing i would suggest besides the above mentioned is to fill in the panel lines with a micron pen (0.5) i would use gray buts thats just my opinion. I didnt bother painting anything besides the anttena on his head (gold). This is one of the few gundam that looks great snap built you dont even have to worry about filling in the gaps with epoxy (if you did that then you would need to paint the entire model to cover the epoxy). I can take pictures if you want (not until tommorrow however). So, unless you want it a different color or plan on sanding and filling in the gaps, there is no reason to paint. I have seen a cool black and gold version that some one did and it was awesome though.

OH. MY. GOD.
I am totally ripping off that color scheme if I do another Unicorn.
I actually did spray paint mine, but nothing radical-- I gave a light coat of Pearl White to the white parts, and did the grey and dark blue bits in Light Gunmetal Grey, Gunmetal Grey, and Metallic Black. And I used Gundam Markers instead of the metallic decals (for eyes, viewfinders, and the antennae).

ayakoholic, I would love to see that if you have any pics to share. arcausalteisen, If you plan on doing anything like that, you would definitely need to prime the model first (especially the clear parts). While i love that color scheme I think i will save it for another model! Unicorn looks unique in his original color scheme to me.

ayakoholic well it definitely looks jazzier to me the armor really shines and i love the gun metal touch but lets see it in destroy mode. arcausalteisen, well it depends on if you have a proper working space or if you can go outside, i would go with a spray on primer (for plastic) you can paint it on with a bursh but that will take forever. make sure you sand down the parts prior to priming. let it sit for at least 24hrs before any further painting.

Only one pic so far. I think the model came out really nicely: Wow. I think it looks pretty snazzy. Much shinier than if it wasn't repainted. But I don't have that model. They might have it on Yahoo Japan Auctions. I'll check.
