Yeah, grayscale monochrome (-ish) heroes, translucent colored villains, and a bunch of vehicles.
I couldn't make much out of the translation, maybe the villains aren't out until January?

At 2500 yen a pop, it's going to prolly cost a couple of hundred to build that power mech suit... may as well save towards chogokin instead of trying to build that behemoth.
Still, I think I'll buy one of each.

I just picked up the latest volume of the Trigun Maxium manga, and what do I find in the omake section than Assemble Borg! It seems Nightow's (the author/artist/creator) Toy Tribe participated in the creation of the line. Cool.
I'll try to get some scans up soon!

@bro cyrano Hope to see some scans there bro -for inquiring purposes but i thought it was already shown at the Assborg link about Nightows participation? It's in japanese though... ...for a while i thought i might give this line a try, but being "exclusive" again is kinda draining me down, physically and finacially wise.. Yamaguchi, give us our quick plastic mecha fix back!

Yeah, I don't think Toy Tribe / Nightow's connection was ever any sort of secret, I just hadn't made the connection. The lack of Japanese fluency doesn't help either

This line looked really promising until two things happened: regular Revoltechs stopped shipping or became magazine exclusives and they decided the price point for these was supposed to be twice the price of regular Revoltechs.
Here are some other random considerations: 1) Stylistically these go head to head against Microman. Microman has been forever plagued by fragility and quality control issues, but at least they only cost $10-15 on average. If the Assembleborgs are going to sell at prices topping $40-50 then they really needed to be much larger scale at approx. 12" - like Henshin Cyborg large! I believe as it stands these are actually similar in size to regular Revoltechs at around 7". 2) Why should these cost more without licensing issues? It baffles me... 3) As a U.S. consumer I worry that I will be very poorly served in terms of the availability of those spare revoltech balljoints in all the flavors being offered up by this toy line. None appeared on the market for Revoltech and I have little hope that anyone's going to support those balljoint sales now. 4) Speaking of which, if those balljoints were for sale I could almost see myself forgoing the figures and going straight for the balljoints. Those things are going to make a lot of hobbyists very happy for the kinds of figures that can be designed around them.
It makes me sad but I just can't justify spending chogokin money for a small plastic toy without any alloy at all. Sure, a few exclusive items could be higher priced and they could get away with that. But if the regular Revoltech line is going to jump higher than $30 per figure, and Assembleborg is going to be higher than $40, then I am going to straight back to chogokin instead.
I think I am beginning to understand why chogokin rules.

Where are you getting your pricing information from? It's way off.
The Assemble Borg figures are 2500 yen, the bike 3300 yen.
The regular Revoltech line isn't becoming magazine exclusive. The latest two are magazine exclusive, but there has been no mention that the line will become magazine exclusive only when Yamaguchi returns.
There has been no mention of the regular Revoltech line jumping to over $30 a figure, nor Assemble Borg to over $40 a figure.
The Assemble Borg figures come with spare joints, and spare joints are for sale on the website along with the figures.
Why as a U.S. consumer do you think Kaiyodo cares if you are being served poorly or not? They are not even trying to market Assemble Borg to you. Your attitude displays a surprising mixture of arrogance and ignorance for anyone who collects imported toys.
I don't mean to come off as combative, but your entire post is full of misinformation and wild speculation. Criticize Revoltech and praise chogokin to your hearts content, but why make stuff up?

If I can find a wholesale contact for Kaiyodo other than Diamond I plan on trying to bring assembleborg over here.

I'll support that effort, coldiron!
All of domu's pricing is correct. The figures are a little more expensive than the regular Revoltech line has been, but there are a lot of good reasons for it. First, I understand the line is pretty much exclusive to the online store (and maybe the Revoltech Friend Shop and whatnot). That means fewer are being made, which means fewer sold. All that in turn means the prices have to be higher to turn a profit at the lower volume, or else Kaiyodo would be losing money by putting Assemble Borg into production. Additionally (and perhaps less importantly), the Assemble Borg figures come with a great deal of additional accessories compared to the average Yamaguchi Series Revoltech. There's an extra tray of parts behind the figure, and they all come with additional joints too.
Also, craptacular, the normal Yamaguchi Series line is just on a temporary hiatus, you should expect to see things returning to normal around May 2009.

Tokyo Hunter is selling the black gainers. From what it looks like they are selling for ~30usd at the Kaiyodo store in Japan, but he is taking orders for 60usd.
I can't bring myself to buy one for that much. I really need to start cracking on learning Japanese so I can get this stuff easier.
I am starting to fear that ASSEMBLEBORGs are going to cost too much for this project I am planning.

I google'd it, and I think it's a blog by a Japanese fellow who sells stuff on eBay. It's like having a friend in Japan, except with marked up prices.
