Looks like the vibe here is that the line is, in fact, an web exclusive. So, as such, it's also fetching exlusive online prices...unless you live in Tokyo. It looks like, for now, I'm even gonna have to pass. Very dissapointing, but there's plenty of other cool toys, so I'll dry my own tears for now! LOL! That being said, here's some EvilBay auctions for those looking to add these sweet pieces to their Revoltech collection!! TokyoHunterSamuraiToysI know TH is is pretty reputable seller. And I've recently had a great transaction with Samurai Toys. Collect on!! ;D

Urgh, really cool but really expensive. Hopefully once more hit the resellers the prices will fall. From Kaiyodo's online store (Google translation): Q: I'm living abroad, shopping and other services can use?
A: Rate fluctuations, and can not determine the price, the higher the cost of shipping, in some cases be higher than commodity prices, our products are only in Japan. Please be patient. KMS (Kaiyodo Museum Store) don't accept the order from outside of Japan. We don't deliver our items abroad. these items are only for domestic sales.

yes, a tad pricey-but i'm going to watch ebay closely and see if i can score one in the future-if i wait perhaps they will be less exclusive and more available.

That's far too expensive. My interest was mostly for customization. At these prices that is not a cost effective option, so I go to plan B.
I still may get a few for myself once the prices come down.

I think it's just engrish. If I remember correctly, that entry was from 2005. We can keep our fingers crossed, though.

Who knows? I'm sure I'd be speculating, but it seems if Kaiyodo wanted to, ABorg could have been released as a regular series. I cannot think of any company recently that has presented a particular line in this manner. SOC, SIC and MSIA from Bandai seems to be going strong and seem not to have had the urge to go 'web only'. Most of those seem to have gone the way of releasing some magazine LE's, but nothing quite like this. Tamashii web has played a role in those releases that do go 'web only'. As for Revoltech and it's future...maybe we're in for a relauch/restructuring. Yamaguchi-san is on holiday but will return, and there are still several future releases in store for the Fraulein branch. I guess what's important is that with the nature of the net, we can now buy the toys we want though deputy services and auctions with minimal hassle. The only hassle now....is with your pocked book!

I just checked out an eBay auction and I have to pass also. I can't justify spending the same money on some spare joints as I used to spend on a single Revoltech figure stateside. On sale I can beat that price by half. And then I get a full figure and a full figure's worth of spare joints (if I want to see it that way).
As noted previously, and even after the previous testiness regarding my earlier comments, Revoltech/Assembleborg is headed in the wrong direction for U.S. buyers. Fine, maybe Kaiyodo doesn't give a damn about me and what I might be interested in. From where I sit, regular Revoltech releases are coming out late, too many items are magazine exclusives, and Assembleborg is Japan/web only.
I just don't see why they can't have a bilingual website to include English - the de facto international language - and then let me take my lumps on the exchange rate and higher shipping costs. They don't have to do any other thing to make that happen. At the price, this is the only way I could see myself buying Assembleborg. Once the secondary market has doubled the original price I have to turn away and remind myself that it's just a plastic toy.
Apparently, this is NOT the era of the internet.

well hopfully if the assemble borgs do well they will branch out further, or maybe there is some internal turmoil that we dont know about that is causing kaiyado to act in this manner, who knows, but im sure there is a reason behind this as they can make a lot more money releasing this line state wise, or maybe they dont make as much money overseas as we all seem to beleive.

My disappointment is that Assembleborg was seemingly designed to position itself against product lines like Microman (plagued by quality control issues), Stikfas (breathing its last?), and Xevoz (defunct). I think there are very good reasons to think that the Revoltech ball-joint could become one of the de facto standards of kitbashers and customizers. But not at these prices and not the way Kaiyodo is supporting it's product lines.
On a personal note, unless I get my Enki, Yoko, and Kerberos Panzer Cop; Kaiyodo's swan song for me will be The Idol Master (for my SO) and Detroit Metal City (for me) lines. Krauser II's hands can more faster than the eye can follow.
Is this how it ends Kaiyodo?
...
My best wishes to all throughout the holiday season! Wherever you are and however you celebrate life, my thoughts go out to you and yours for a better next year. May you live long in peace, good health and dignity.

After a few days of consideration followed by a brief discussion with the wife (yes, she's a keeper boys)...I finally bit the bullet yesterday morning and paid the admission fee for the rights to a set of these (the Mr. Assemble and Bike). They will be here next Monday morning according to the UPS tracking system... I also pre-ordered a set of the Saber and Baron figures...for whatever that's worth... To answer your question...YES, I've gone just a little off the deep end...especially lately with the ultra exclusives in the last couple months...In addition to every regular and "regular" exclusive (friendshop or otherwise), I've picked up Shin Getter Black and Mazinkaiser Black, then the Xan and Enkidudu pre-orders, and now the Assemble Borg stuff... The way I see it, at the moment there really isn't much (Yamaguchi or otherwise) up for pre-order beyond February outside of a few Hokuto No Ken items that we've seen images of...and technically I've seen images over the last year of +/- 10 figure prototypes that have yet to be released or solicited...but no one really seems to know where any of this is going outside of the (heavily speculated and rumored but nothing concrete) V3 relaunch... Point is, I'm going to take what I can get for the moment (overpriced as it is) because I've waited a good couple years for these (sine the early prototype images) and I'm not going to miss out on the chance to own them...and hey, if I have to be part of the demographic that contributed to them in any way considering making these easier and cheaper to obtain, then so be it ... That said, I'll be taking LOTS of good (high res) photos over the holiday's so I'll do my best to share those and maybe do a little (actual English) review of them...we'll see...

Contrats on your haul phoenix! I've been kicking around the idea of purchasing these as well. Just not sure if I can make the move right now financially. Plus there's so much other cool stuff around. I'll definitly wait for your impressions perhaps and then decide.

Hey hey it's been a long time! I just got the first of two sets of A-Borgs and I will say this. it's everything I had hoped for it's revoltech and microman mashed into a awesome figure. I only have the Mr Assemble figure. no QC probs yet(thought the little wrist R-joint is lose still, a common problem) but the detail and the paint is par none. I think this will be a great line. I do hope they lower the price but then the cheaper the price the cheaper the product. I'll buy them up ok enough clifton out

Sweet! It's great to hear that Assemble Borg is starting to reach the collections of RJ'ers... Any chance of a a little gallery? ;D It'd be cool to eventually have an Assemble Borg creation competition, where we all post the best combinations we can come up with. I think more of us need to buy them first though (myself included)
