Just thought you guys might be curious to know. I've been doing a lot of research for my long-in-the-works History of Transforming Robots, and finally managed to determine which came first (years before Raideen, by the way;)). danefield.com/alpha/robots/spexplor.htmSeveral tin toys before this one had transforming aspects (like the attacking Martian who shot a secret gun out of his chest), but none actually altered what they were as a whole until this guy. Soon after came the Horikawa "Dino" robot, which could change from a robot to a dinosaur danefield.com/alpha/robots/dino.htm

That's pretty cool, but what about post-WW2 robots? They transformed from junk to toys

well there weren't any earlier tins. I practically had everyone at Alphadrome help me confirm that.
As far as I know, there weren't any vinyl robot toys yet, and almost certainly no transforming vinyl robot toys. And forget about diecast robot toys...

greetings..just to put dates to the early transforming robots..the attacking martian was first introduced in the sixties..1964 is the earliest record that i can verify from my limited data. the dino bot is also sixties..there were three types that i know about. one has a date of 68"..i have a later hong kong version of this.. it also blows smoke and makes screeching noises...absolute genius!! ..its true i admit it ...i love my robots!...peace and mechanisation
