A few months ago I embarked on the work necessary to reproduce the Bullmark Godzilla and MechaGodzilla Boxes. I made a handful and sold most of the inital ones. I'm going to print off a couple more sheets this week because I need another G box. I have 2 MechaG boxes for sale. I can make more of either but I'm checking to see if anyone is interested before I make too many. Boxes are $25 each. Reason so pricey is that there is a ton of time and materails into them to make them right. One small mistake and I have to start over. I will do discounts if you want both boxes. I think they turned out really well. Colors are good, box fit is good, and the figure fits inside perfectly. I was even able to re-create the gold "Toho" sticker as a separate gold sticker and applied it to the box! Lots of time and materials here, but I'm happy with the result. The only things that are not perfect is obviously the white inside the box and the silver portion. You can't print 'silver' and I wasn't happy how the gradiant was working, so I just used a light grey. That's probably the most obvious difference. FYI - the box assembles exactly the same way as the original box including the folds on the bottom! Here you can see my source box along with the repro. I started doing this with Mego Cards and you can see my work on that here www.megocards.com

So if you can't "print silver" how did the old timers do it?
Also I'm guessing you would be a good source on tearing apart the lightan and mazinga repros. What do you look for in finding the fakes?
Thanks in advance!

I just meant that I, *personally* cannot print silver. Obviously it can be done but to get the kind of silver they used on the original boxes would be something more complex that what is available to the home customizer. (namely me) I'm not sure the fakes you're describing. The truth is, most fakes are easy to spot simply beacuse they don't take the time or the Quality control. But I would have to see an original and a fake to tell. Some fakes can be quite good and hard to tell in pictures because you have to see the materials, etc. in person.

WOW! These look great! You did an awesome job. I do have a loose Godzilla, but unfortunately its not something I can spend on at this time. Good luck on selling them.

How about a Ghidorah, Gigan or Angilas repro box? I would bite then.

If anyone would like to lend me a box, I can do them. No problem. I have all the paterns and logos created, so doing others is just a matter of getting scans of the sides and doing all the touch-up...
