I've posted this pic before, but here is the very first Japanese robot that I got. This guy started it all: Talking Robocon There are three little phonograph records for the talking mechanism. One has a little song on one side, and a speech on the other. The other two (shown) are short sayings. Of course it's all in Japanese. I used to have the GA38 gokin version but my ex-wife (fleas be upon her) swiped it when we got divorced back in the eighties. JWM

Now what could she possibly do with a Robocon die cast?
I remember having a more recent one but I sold it.....anyone have that one? Came out around the late 90's. There was a little of the robocon revival then...

Robocon and his pals from the show are all such fun designs...I've seen a couple of raw eps and it looks like a fun little show that kids would love. Sad to say I only have one of the repro diecast Robocons that came out a few years ago and set of vinyl figures from the series. A friend of mine has that Robocon Jumbo and it's real sweat in the flesh...nice place to start, you must be a happy man jwm.

Love the toys.I dont have any originals yet.I have a dragon diecast, which I think is pretty nice for the $25.00,and a Sensei remake. But that Jumbo is hot Ed.Def.one of the most bizarre exercises in live action TV.I've seen.

Getting back on track, I've a few Robocons...a GA38, GA14, the Inu dog (two of them), that one with the swastika chest in the picture you posted, and the egg chef, the washing machine rabbit, the green swivelling chrome brain guy The gantsu, a few Robo Chans, which I understand were a follow on to the original Robocon, and various other idiotic novelty diecasts.
Some of these are boxed, some are loose, and some are totally complete. As a complete novice regarding the show, but a lover of novelty robots, I'm puzzled by some of the accessories that come with these guys. So - does anyone know why they came with heart stickers? Or cockroaches (in GA14's case), or most perplexing - coins of various international currencies?
You know, In some ways I actually don't want to know the logic behind those accessories - the mystery is quite attractive.

Although I have never seen the series, I understand that Robocon is a household robot. One of his duties is killing cockroaches. I believe that the cockroach killing is a running gag in the show. I can picture the clumsy robot run amok breaking everything trying to smash a bug.

Yeah - I can see robocon cleaning up cockroaches. But I'm still baffled by the coins and heart stickers.
I fairly recently picked up a GA38, and my goodness - it's SO different from the GA14. his 'bib' is different, his body casting different, and of course, all the rotating cogs and spinning TV screen is pure mechanical delight!
