Hey, all! thought I'd post some add'l progress on the Astroganger project for Godaikin. I really had to make use of the quick type epoxy for this just to get the finish where I needed. I've already pinned everything (hands excluded) as seen in the image below. The rest of the pics are up at the blog of course. Just click the image for more pics!

Thank you, sir! So, here's a little photo of the kit after primer has been applied. The interesting and disturbing thing about primer is it tends to reveal all the little imperfections that are missed during initial clean up. Such as the case here. Just a few dings and or protrusions...nothing a quick sanding or hobby knife can't take care of.

I've been left behind! ;D Nwayz, I am still not feeling very well and need to finish this on Friday or Saturday max. I am still in the process of cleaning the model by filling the tiny holes. There are lots of it around the figure and keeps me busy. I have a pic I took yesterday... Will post some final pics when I finish them! And got to do finish another commissioned work this week too, the model kit of Rainbow Man. vic01

Started the Painting process last night, and going well so far. I was actually looking for additional reference photos of the painted kit itself and realized that it's a pretty hard model to find. After some research I found out that the model was featured in a vintage Hobby Japan. January '94 to be exact. It was part of their Super 3D Show section. The sculpter is Hayami Hitoshi. You've seen his work if you've browsed any HJ over the last 18 years. Here's a list of models featured in that section of HJ www.freewebs.com/superrobots/SUPER_3D_SHOW.htmThanks to www.freewebs.com/superrobots/ for the info!

Alrighty, a bit more paint progress going on. I'm applying multiple shades to the model so this part takes a little bit of time (for me anyways). The result, however, should yield richer colors values and give it a bit more depth. That's the hope anyways. First I like to apply a subtle brown/black pre-shade. Here's a sample. I explain a bit more about the process at the blog.

oh by the way, I know that site recca......I have dealt with it before...the owner who's name is Patrick is very cooool guy...and he is from france. Yeah! Ya know, I actually had to email him to get some add'l reference pics for the back of the model. He was extremely cool and sent me some pics directly from the magazine. Sooo nice of him. So, Vic if you need some add'l ref just let me know. Or if you've not started the process yet. Just give me a few more hrs and I shoud be finished with principle painting.

Thanks recca! I am too late and I wished I did the pre-shading but due to time constraints, prepping for my vacation this weekend and being sick for a while, I have to stick w/ the normal painting. Recca, I am surely you'll finishing those Astrogangas like masterpieces, I wished i can do that. Congrats in advance ma friend, I know the finished models will be great like your other models. Sir Godaikin, I am sorry coz I can't ship the models today. I need another day to finish the detailings. I never thought that this small models are a piece of work. I am doing a lot of handbrushing and it takes time to clean up. Thank you. Here's a pic of almost done Jongar. I just used the maxtoons pics for reference, i wished I have a pic of a finished resin for reference. Nwayz, this all i can do. Thanks! I am also finishing the old model kit Rainbowman w/c is almost done. vic01
