Hehe, no worries mechamasterj! godaikin: Just waiting for the resins. Can you post a bigger pic of Astroganga? I tried the net and yet I see a few pics and not that clear. My best bet is youtube, and kept on watching it to get accurate colors. Sorry i have no any idea of Astroganger. Pics in high res will be very helpful Thanks! BTW, he's cool! vic01 |

LOL When I'm at work, Vic01 and I are almost neighbors! LOL. I have a Misa Hayase garage kit that I've been meaning to paint for the longest time. My airbrush has been sitting in the garage for the longest time and hasn't seen much use. Maybe I'll take up a winter project and build one of the Gundam models I have that has not been assembled.

Just received the items! I thought it'll be easy but looks like it's not, hehe! Some parts are needed to be filled w/ putty, lots of small holes, irregularities, some flashes and a broken finger. Need to scratchbuild that. Will show some progress when I start the build.  vic01 |

Need to scratchbuild that. Will show some progress when I start the build. vic01 Well, well! What's this? Dueling Astrogangas? LOL! Yeah, Just picked up the kits this morning. Looks like there will be a bit of rebuild on some of portions of the kit. Second what Vic said about there being some irregularities, pockmarks and what-not. Lot's of sanding and finishing and general prep work before primer touches the kits. But, we love this stuff right. I just LOVE the sculpt on this mecha. I'd like to know who did it.  As for the resin material itself....a very dense, sturdy type of resin that almost reminds me of glass. It's really pretty cool actually! Anyway's, I'll keep things moving. Here's where I'm at so far. I'm sure Vic's already finished! ;D BTW, the anime...FRICKIN' ROCKS! Big thanks for posting the maxtoons link! I can't believe this has been under my radar. I'm really becoming quite a super robo vintage fan.   |

Wow, you have two too?! Did Godaikin also ask you finish two? Actually, I recommended you first to him before I took the project since you have much experience than I do. You already started to clean the resin?! I bet you'll finish them first before I do. And you will probably finish them in a week. I won't compete w/ you w/ the finished looks. Resins are pretty good in quality, they are hard and won't break easily. Not bad, additional work for us though. This is my first SR kit to finish, w/c is cool! Will probably make my own version of MG Mazinger Z soon since im getting hooked up w/ SR, hehe! vic01 |

I should thank you heartily for that. My apologies that I did not do so sooner. Again, I thank you , sir! Yes! I'm very excited about this project. I'm actually going to be doing three! Yup, three of these bad boys! Crazy, I know. But, I figured, what the hey! The models arrived in town this weekend but I didn't get them in hand until yesterday morn, due to late USPS trakin' info. I would have started sooner. That being said, I'm going to take time to go through each step as thoroughly as possible so they turn out as nice as can be. Plus I wanna enjoy these kit's as long as I can before I send them back to Godaikin! Oh, and Vic, no kidding, man...if your awesome work on that Deep Striker is any indication, I can't wait to check out your Astroganga! No pressure, brother! ;D Well, back to work! And don't be surprised if I ask you for tips.  As an example you can sort of see that one of the right feet will need some epoxy putty for rebuilding as well as some portions of the torso. actually, 3 with recca and 2 with vic01 and I still have 2 more of Astroganger with me...and to top it all of these are few of a total of 193 Mix Robots resins that needs to be painted the collection incudes few Grendizer resins, Getter Robo G, Great Mazinger, Mazinger Z, Tetsujin 28 FX and so on...the whole guys...a good collection. This is serious robot addiction |
