My entry. I decided to do a sketched out style. I may do a more fleshed out version down the road. The concept is a Mecha designed for arctic terrain. The legs fall flat and the treads are for high speed movement and the legs are used for harder terrain.

Thanks. These are the kind of mecha in my story I have been working on for a while. Once I get these resin casting figured out, you might see some of them in the flesh.

Great creations everyone...... two thumbs up and my hat's off to you guys... congratulation coldiron: WOW!! That's one superb looking mecha you got there.... I love the idea of a solid looking mecha with lots of speed to go with it ( power and agility combined into one.... GREAT!!!) I’ve been thinking of a nice mecha design that can really link to my SN......... Then a concept suddenly popped into my mind. In an instant , adrenaline rushed in my system and I immediately created my mecha.... ;D Well, here goes…… Deciphering my nickname: Wings- my nickname, this is how am called by friends since childhood (from my first name Edwin) Eye- my field of specialization MD – my profession Since my profession involves diagnosing and treating eye diseases, I thought of using a couple of my most reliable eye instruments, that always aid me in diagnosing eye illnesses, as part of my robot design. Here goes...... Merging sequence:Merging position. Fundoscope head detaches from it’s handle 1. Fundoscope handles bend perpendicularly to form the upper arms and forearms of the robot. 1. The right retinoscope rotates clockwise while the left retinoscope rotates counterclockwise 2. Upper red knobs of the retinoscopes flip open 3. The small forehead guards of the retinoscopes cock inwards 1. Right and left retinoscope heads combine to form the robot’s torso 2. Both Fundoscope handles slide down to elongate the upper arms 3. Gray parts of the handle caps hide inside the black part 4. Both retinoscope handles slide down to reveal the robot’s thighs 5. Both black caps of the retinoscope handles slide down to separate the feet from the lower legs. 1. Both upper arms position to insert inside the flip opened red knobs of the retinoscopes 2. Both legs slide upward to lock into position. 3. Front portion of the black caps of the retinoscope handles flip open to form the robot’s feet. 1. The fundoscope head splits into half and reveals the robot’s head. 1. Both upper arms insert inside the flip opened red knobs of the retinoscopes. Split opened fundoscope head connects to the torso and locks the upper arms into position. 2. Both hands slide out of the forearm area. 1. One-sided yellow cape slides outward from the right backside. * Caduceus joins the robot to form the spear * Trial frame rotated to transform into a shield PRESENTING...... W.E.M.D. ver. 2.14 ( Wing's Enormous Mechanism of Destruction )* Thanks for looking * Instruments and the merging sequences were made using MS Paint * Used photoshop for creating background on my last pic ( Sorry, am only starting to learn the use of Photoshop ) * Happy Holidays to everyone.........

Impressive work Wingseyemd. I suppose I could sketch something in a jiffy too though my screeen name was made up with no particular meaning other than in my mind I connected Caledonia with one of the ancient Sumerian civilizations depictions from old graphic novels.

Nice work, all! Wings, your W.E.M.D. concept looks kick-ass! You sure can do wonders with Paint! Anywhoo... here's my OmniBot-X. Supposedly a multi purpose / all terrain asssault / rescue machine, but couldn't really bring it out. Concept was there, but couldn't really put it on paper at the time.

That really Genius, Winseyemd! Who'd think a doctor's instruments could ever transform into a mecha... Awesome concept! Great work there, everyone! It's nice to see folks here display their drawing styles and talents through various mediums, and all the attention to detail put into that artwork. Keep it up! zozo-Magengar

Thanks a lot guys. I was kinda glad that I was able to squeeze and finished W.E.M.D. on time, inspite of all the busy workload and the grieving the lost of a loved one ( doing the artwork, bought me some time to temporarily forget the sadness, even for a short span of time). @otaru Ikari: Man!!!! that's a great idea..... it really didn't enter my braincells. Surely, that's gonna be a nice one... Doctor In!!!! hehehe.... thanks a lot for bringing it into my senses (",) coldiron: THanks Neocaledonian: Thanks bro... Ahm..... let me think, how about the concept of an ancient city rising up to form Giant Robot. Surely, it's gonna be an awesome mecha...... imagine, an ancient shrine.... a very old civilization..... a long aged sleeping village, suddenly will rise into an enormous mecha!!! WW!!! that's gonna be awesome. The reawakening of a long dormant civilization, hehehe..... jaz playing a bit with my imagination (",) @omni: WOW!!!! Awesome mecha creation. I love the details, superb weaponry... Oh, the body built, really huge (Strenght and power to go with it) and looks soooooo smashingly tough!! PLUS, I love the way your pilot express himself. Superbly done indeed..... Omni, that's one great entry... congrats. magengar: Thanks a lot. I myself never though that aside from aiding me in my work, this instruments can turn into something else with the help of an imagination. (",)

Some great entries already. I believe tomorrow is the last day for entry. As promised (or should I say warned), I'm submitting my horrendous entry into the mix. I'm no artist, so I hope my ideas translate OK. I drew up some early sketches that I really liked, and I kept meaning to come up with a nice drawing, but time passed, so I had to rush this and didn't really get to finish it. I think I like my early sketches better. Plus, it seems that it didn't scan too well, so it looks pretty light and uneven. All pencil marks / shading on the original are better. Anyway, without getting too deep into the background of my name, Kingboy is a play on boy king - Tutankhamun (King Tut). So I went with an Egyptian theme. He includes a staff as a handheld weapon, a sun disc on his shoulder to fire laser blasts, and a flying transport shaped as a winged scarab. The transport is piloted by a pharoah-looking driver who uses an ankh to control the vehicle (he can carry it with him and then insert it into the vehicle to bring it to life). The vehicle docks into the chest of the robot, and the pilot's seat rotates around to face out. I could probably incorporate missiles into the eyes of the robot or of the snake on his crest, but didn't draw that in. The "D" on his groin (for the "D" in Kingboy D) stands for Damutep-Ra or Damutep-Robo (I couldn't decide). Anyway, that's the best I can do right now.

The Adventure of Mechaleleng..Mechaleleng Loves to watch 70's and 80's anime mechas.. Mechaleleng also posseses human emotions.. His Speciality moves is Explosive Tartar!! ..and can summon his "MechaZord" whenever he plays his Saxophone..mostly on Thursday. When Solar recharge is not an option, Mechaleleng can use the power outlet for speedy recovery.. Unfortunately, Mechaleleng's power supply is only 110volts. He is not upgradable to autovolts. ----- LOL. I made a strip for a little laughter. lol. Hope you guys liked it. Great works everyone.

mechaleleng 2.0: LOL! That was a great strip! I love that whole "Explosive Tartar" power! @neocaledonia: I've always loved your Aztec / Maya / Inca inspired mecha designs. This new one is no exception. Looks great! KingboyD: very nice representation of your username. You threw your hat into the ring, that's a very good start.

mechaleleng, that's awesome! The drawings really have a lot of personality and life to them. I wish I could have put something together in time, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Still, this was a really cool concept for a drawing contest...I might still try to make something even though the contest is done, if I can find the time... I guess I've got my first New Year's resolution: participate in last year's Fun Draw.
