Yikes. Had me scared for a moment. Honestly, I've cut way back on my Revoltech purchases as of late, but I'd be very disappointed to see the Yamaguchi line disappear altogether. I'm still peeved about Black Gainer/ Dark Overman being such an exclusive item, but maybe there'll be a white version with the 3.0 line. Hmm...

*Sigh* I was somehow hoping it was going to turn out to just be a rumor. But that was wishful thinking. I doesn't really make sense though. Just because Yamaguchi is on "vacation" doesn't mean they can't release Black Gainer and Enkidudu in the main line. Why wouldn't Kaiyodo (or whoever now) want to keep new product on the shelves for as much of his absence as possible? *Sigh* Not only does this mean a long drought, but also aftermarket markup on the two figures, probably even more inflated due to "OMG end of Revoltech" nonsense. I hope that this was Yamaguchi's own decision and what he wants, rather than a corporate decision or something. If he's happy, it to all of our benefit, as both collectors and humans. But I'm still sad.

I think I mentioned this before, but Yamaguchi has been doing 2 sculpts a month for pretty much the entirety of the Revoltech line's life, I think the guy deserves a chance to catch his breath. 2 sculpts might not sound like alot, but it's a ton of work (even despite color variants like the Evas and Black Getter- he still had to change some stuff) and 1 sculpt in 2 weeks is really impressive. Another reason that this may be happening is because Kaiyodo may be trying to better integrate or smooth out their deal with Good Smile Company. Up till now, Revoltech and Figma have been rival brands, but under the GSC banner, the may be trying to unify and better compliment each other. Only time will tell, but I don't see any reason to be alarmed from this news.

The Revoltech and Kaiyodo's robot sculptor.... their ONLY robot sculptor (yes, he did all 60+ Revol sculpts), which why it's pretty big news.

Katsuhisa Yamaguchi is the sculpter of the main Revoltech line or the Revoltech Yamaguchi Line.

We allready talk about this at future revoltechs thread and Black King Gainers Thread, didn't we? Yeah, the first news came in through those two threads. This thread has the dubious honor of confirming everything, though.

Hmm maybe assemble borgs will be a substitute for Yamaguchi line for now. It all make sense, why kaiyodo release a lot of line beside Yamaguchi line . . . "to sent him on a vacation "

Yamaguchi line is just on a break. He's not leaving the revoltech for good. Am just wishing him a good vacation so that he can start a fresh and bring us all the revoltechs we hope for in "what revoltech would you like to see made" thread. We will see him back in May.

I am glad they are keeping this guy around. Yamaguchi is Kaiyodo's Ace in the hole. He also did the virtual on stuff. I wonder if he also sculpted the old Eva line as well.

Assemble Borg shouldn't be held up by Yamaguchi's vacation. The Good Smile thing might have an impact though. Actually, I expect Kaiyodo to use the absence of the Yamaguchi Series to put more effort into promoting its other Revoltech lines, the fledgling Assemble Borg in particular.
As far as cost fluctuation goes, it might be wise to catch up soon. Some people will be yelling apocalypse and raising prices as the news hits, which will probably subside after a while. However, it's quite possible that the old Revoltech sculptures will go out of production with the coming of 3.0, which will mean a more limited supply. If that's the case, you can bet the figures left on the market will get more and more expensive.
Is anybody else concerned about 3.0's 'mix of robots and humans?' That might mean that 3.0 isn't going to just be Yamaguchi sculpts...and we did see Queen's Blade figures on Yamguchi-style stands, but I don't think he sculpted them. Time will tell...

if you think about it, now is the best time to take a vacation. When he comes back, maybe the economy would have recovered some. Toy collecting is weak right now.
