Now that the dust has settled on the 1/100 VB-6 Koenig Monster , how do collectors view it? Do you think it will appreciate or just be another Yamato toy? japanesetoylink.com/Yamato/Sci-Fi/YAM-MAC024.htm-I ask because I have one and was considering selling it, letting it age (possibly I will appreciate it more later), or selling it later if I can swap it for vintage toys LMK what you think. Overall I think the reception to the Monster toy was on the low side of warm, yet a lot of collectors were turned off by it's various flaws and others still regard it with some enthusiasm. I had mine for about a week before getting rid of it. The loose arms and legs not locking properly in shuttle mode killed it for me. If I were a display only collector I would probably still have it, but I like to grab my toys and play with them from time to time and this toy was an excercise in frustration for me.
If no other monster ever gets made, I can see this thing being pretty saught after in years to come, regardless of the problems. Even right now I think the Macross community is vibrant enough where you wouldn't have any problems finding a new home for it.

I was going to add to this but eriku pretty much covered it. The only Monster I can see getting sold....would be a new 1/60 like the Destroids coming out.

Don't think it will appreciate, its good if you will just use it as a display piece but as a toy its a floppy mess.
Hoping Bandai makes a better one since they have the license for Macross Frontier.

So it sold in low numbers and was sort-of-popular..... hmm....
I'm still on the fence.
This sounds like what happened years ago with certain Pink chogokin rangers and Robo Jr. They weren't liked. Today they are friggin' tough to find and pricey.
I'm not into the whole speculation thing, but this darned thing is big and well done on the surface. I still lean towards keeping it for a while then recycling it into trades or vintage.

It would be REALLY BAD A$$ if Bandai did decide to make one from MF. Especially since it is show and used soooooo many time during that show. IE the final battle scene.

heres hoping that bandai does their version or yamato tweaks theirs. Might be quite a long shot on both. AFAIK (and I might be wrong or outdated on my info mind you ), but I think Yamato still has dibs on the Variable Monster design (VFX / VFX2 ?), and they don't usually do tweaks on lines that didn't sell all too well. But here's to hoping they DO, coz I missed out on the VB-6 and would like to have one for my collection.

Yup outdated old man ;D ;D ;D
Bandai do not even need the VFX license since they have the one for Macross Frontier, they can just do the SMS version of the Koenig.
