what do you think of it surlyj? I'm very happy with it. Still think the paint/blue plastic looks slightly cheap, but overall the figure looks awesome. The blades do come off WAY too easy and do so almost every time I try to pose an arm. That's very annoying. Pegs are just loose. Might try to beef them up a tad. Wish for the price that we got some sort of twisting locking mechanism for them. the heft is nice, and the biggest surprise for me was the size. For some reason I expected it to be smaller, but I'm quite happy with the size. Still think it's a bit overpriced, but it is a great figure and there aren't any real competition options available either. I also got 25% of mine, so after CA sales tax it was like $107, which I still think it a bit too expensive. It it makes me feel more comfortable buying a Giru Giru tho. Pissed I missed out on the big amazon discount a few months ago. Really can't see myself spending $150 on that, as much as I want it.

Jin Jin and Giru look awesome next to each other but Giru is a totally different kind of figure in terms of articulation.
Yeah Jin Jin is big.. are you using him with a SRC Grendy or a MT01?

when that MT01"V2" comes out, youll probably be getting that one too anyway.. Maybe. Two Grendizers is enough for me and I already have the CM Gokin coming too. I will probably sell the GX-04 unless something about the CM bugs me, so the MT01 v2 would have to trump the SRC for me to have two smaller Grendizers. The SRC is so fantastic tho, I can't see HLPro topping it.

Its a matter of taste I think, some things I like about the CM some things I don't like.. same with the SRC, I like the way it moves but I don't like the sculpt. It is a SRC that is NOT on my list. Shin Mazinger? yes..Raideen? yes.. Shin Getter? no.. for me everything just depends on the character and the way they are presenting it.
I can tell you this though, HLpro isn't sleeping when it comes to Grendy. Because they are so heavily focused on Grendizer, this next one MUST be a Masterpiece before they release it. These next few figures that will be coming out are going to be the foundation that the new Grendy is going to be built upon. You gotta remember that Gin Gin is what they were working on a bit more than a year ago.. they have come farther than that already. I think Gattiger is going to be a good deal better than Gin Gin and Zmazinger even more so..

Well I don't see myself getting Gattiger. But you may be right. I almost bought the MT01 several times. The head on the SRC is a little tiny, but I absolutely love it. If MT01 v2 tops it, I'll ditch the SRC. I have no loyalty to it,just really love it and am not bothered much by the sculpt issues that perturb others.
As for cm vs SoC, I definitely prefer chrome over white, but the cm looks a bit more quality to me, and definitely aims to have the superior articulation. If that holds true and the weapons are sturdier, That probably outweighs the chrome over white preference I have. Also the cm spazer looks much better.

So, you are happy with it although of all what you've mentioned from flaws? Well, I guess we have to be happy with it. It's kinda we must obligate ourselves to be happy with it, no matter what credits or criticisms it gets, after paying 100.00+ EUR for it, and knowing it is the ONLY Gin Gin action figure in the market. LOL! Thanks for the photo, I like it!

Speaking of Gattaiger, HLPRO said on their FB that the MT will come next year and it will be Eur220.00 (roboizer+flying tiger)...that's around $300 US ...I wasn't sure if I was going to pick it up, but after hearing that they made my decision much easier lool

Well yeah, the paint issue is just a little preference for me, the only real flaw is that the blades come loose easily, but in also don't play with my figures that much so it's not a HUGE deal, or atlea at not big enough to outweigh the positives. Overall it!/ a great figure. The size, weight, sculpt, articulation (though the thigh/hip could use a little more range) are all pluses.

Regarding those spinning razors, it's true, we do not transform these figures that much! We display more than we play (according to our ages). So, how about if we stick those razors with double-sided tape? You know, just lil' pieces to make 'em hold 'n stick to Gin Gin's shields?

I bet its going to come in right at 200.. that's what Im thinking, about 100 for the figure and 100 for the dicast spazer... we just have to see.

I Think if those pegs were only slightly bigger or a different shape, they would provide a lot more friction and work better then they do. A simple twist-locking peg would have been great to use there.
Check him out and move him without the shields installed.. look how good that movement is.. its real nice.

Dammage I thought you made up your mind on not liking this figure,is it possible new pictures will change your mind? Just curious. What do you like about it so far,we all know you hate the head. This is the type of figure you need to own before making any decisions on it.Its alot different than the Metaltech Grendizer, not better or worse just different. Oh, I did not want to see more photos so I change my mind! From the photos I already saw, I do not like the side-horns (this is the main thing I don't like about MT04)...But I like to see more photos of action figures in general. Whether I like it or dislike it, I am buying it. It's the only Gin Gin action figure around and it's essentially needed to complete my MT collection. I am lucky to own that King Gori resin kit (now, I have the first of kind of each Vegan enemy; the first saucer-beast Giru Giru, the first Vegan special forces robot Gin Gin and the first Vega beast King Gori). With those side-horns, I am also not OK with his colors a bit! The eyes do not bother me that much. Take a look at the photos on the link below, they will diffidently show us all how the side-horns are different from the anime! I will not hate this figure when it's in my hands, but I am not sure if I will like it. We'll see... super-shogun.blogspot.fr/2013/10/goldorak-metaltech-04-gin-gin-golgoth-7.html

I have to say that for been my first HL Pro figure, I am quite impressed with the quality of this product. It may not be anime accurate, but it is fun to play with.
Now I am patiently looking forward for both Gattaiger and Z-Mazinger. I wish that HL Pro also produce God Mazinger and Govarian.
