I might bite but it depends o price, it seems to work well with SRC to average sized SOC's and probably even Masterpiece Transformers.

If you look on the platform in front of his fist you will see a little sample of a human figure..

It does look pretty sweet. I hope it is not too expensive. Though, I will admit. This now gives me big ideas for DIY ones *-)

It is such a beautiful-looking universal base! Let us hope its quality will be fine too. I might buy it only when Metaltech Grendizer v.2 comes out. I like to keep my GX-04s on his own base. Revoltech 085 is too short for it. The SRC and current Metaltechs are better displayed in action poses. SRC Mazinkaiser could be the only figure I would display inside this uni. base for now... but yet again, I'll wait for MT01 v.2. Gin Gin? N/C.

Wish I knew what the scale of that human figurine is, it looks perfect for my DX hangar I've been looking at some cool N-scale "Dock-worker" figurines made by Woodland Scenics. I wanna make some Add-on platforms and beams for my DX hangar. It does look pretty sweet. I hope it is not too expensive. Though, I will admit. This now gives me big ideas for DIY ones *-) BOOM! I'm all Ditto with you on the DIY thing! I also hope it's not too expensive. But in addition to that, my bigger concern is its Availability... ...will it become available here in the U.S.? ...in the past, some of HLPro's stuff weren't available here. I got all mad about it a while back. So, while I like the design and the look of this base, I think I would prefer to enjoy the challenge of making my own robot base... That idea has been biting me in the bungholio ever since the DX Maz landed in my hands! I'd like to make one for my VV; and I'd also like to make some smaller bases for my SRCs. I can attribute this sudden addiction to the DX Maz Hangar, but it also goes back even further to the days when the Gundam mechanic chain bases were introduced; and I still would like to grab one of those, as well! lol I can already see these robot bases have many of us hooked by the blizzacks. ...you start out with just One base and before you realize it you've got several bases occupying your displays; and then the Wife-the Kids-the Cat-the Dog-and the Mailman are all lookin at you like you're trying to build the Death Star inside your home. Display real-estate is an issue in my room, so I gotta be careful not to turn into a Base-head. zozo-mag

They had LED and all this awesomeness. One of the GUNPLA guys working the booth told me how to do it with plywood, electrical cable, and other bits. Now, with this as a reference and my DX Maz hangar I plan to make 2014 the year for building.

in the mock up you will see flat panels on some of the walls, I was under the impression that these were clear windows showing the inside of control rooms with guys in them.. I mentioned that some dimmed internal lighting would look real cool in there.. he didn't comment so maybe they thought of that already? I also said I thought it would be cool if there were some yellow spinning "warning" lights on the walls Like something from heavy Industry... the reply was "it would have to be really really small... not sure if its possible to do that but yellow would look real cool in there yes."
If you look closely, the scale of the base is very ambiguous.. I was thinking that small packs of workers and scientists of different scales could be offered.. to make him work with MT SRC or SOC... my words, not HLPROs though.. if not, we can rig something up ourselves..

I see what you're saying about those panels back there, they could be made as windows. Sure enough folks who buy these bases will certainly make that hack possible... that alone inspires loads of ideas for the windows/control rooms. As for the rotating warning lights, such as them old rotating police lights, right? Got it! You and I must be either Psychic or on some synchronicity pattern, because a few days ago I was trying to figure out a way to add a siren rotating light inside my DX hangar... the hangar is big enough to accommodate such effects and diorama add-ons, it aint even funny. The rotating light idea for THAT base right there is possible if the design will allow it... ...install a fixed LED mounted into a turntable that has a revolving reflector moving AROUND the fixed LED light. Damn, this is making me wanna cut up my roommate's Christmas tree lights! zozo-mag

yeah I think he said those panels are supposed to be clear window to control rooms but don't mark my words.. that's what is shown in the drawing so I think my memory is correct.
Yeah I was seeing in my mind maybe 4 tiny yellow rotating hazard lights .. two an the back walls and a two on the ceiling.. like the ones you would see in Aliens or maybe Alien 1 on the Nostromo .. and a switch to turn them off and on... maybe a dimmer switch on the floodlights.. Id like some interior lighting for the control rooms those also on a dimmer switch.. what would really be cool is a f**king laser somewhere in that thing.. haha
if the thing had a bunch of cool effects I would be willing to pay several hundred for it.. imagine if the "Metaltech" on the back of it light up in red LIGHTS.. DAMN!!

and the two on the walls don't flash directly at you.. the beams sweep the walls just like in a factory
and a wall plug option so you don't need batteries... you can keep it running all day and use it as a "night light" know what I mean?

BOOM! "Alien"... "Nostromo"... exactly On Point! You got it! There's just No end to all this brainstorming, and I'm about to head off to work right now- this will be racing through my mind all evening while I'm at work! lol This is brewing more excitedly than popcorn! zozo-mag

then, they come out with an "Enemy Base".. its all organic looking , pink and black and green and black patterns, like the inside of Blakis Mothership.. clear tubes and domes coming down from the ceiling .. that would be badass

A reference thread is needed, indeed! I don't know how we'll be able to pull it off, though. Not many of us have any robot bases. But even pictures, artist renditions, and screen-caps from the animes would help. Here's an old CG model render I did for the Photon Lab landscape... ...I apologize for these large images. If anyone gets the reference thread started, feel free to move this comment/image set to that new thread, or I'll repost these over there as soon as it's up and running. ===================== Back on this wild-n-crazy topic... Gettershadow mentioned putting Lasers inside those bases. I think these little toy finger laser-pointers would be good for Effect add-ons: You'll find these cool lil gadgets dirt-cheap on eBay. They're also sold at your local Dollar Store. I bought a couple of these for .50 cents out of a large gumball vending machine at my local PriceChopper supermarket ( Baron, we can find these at PriceChopper... if the store in your hood doesn't have them, the PriceChopper near me on Madison/Delaware might still have them... I'll grab some for you) These toy laser-pointers are mild-power compared to the higher-end burning laser types; but you still do Not wanna aim these at your eyes as these toys will seriously blind you. You can paint the casings on these things in a matte-gray color and mount them as "turrets" to your robot bases. Now, if you had a FOG MACHINE in your room, that would really make this The Bomb! But, who thinks of owning a Fog Machine unless you're in a rock band or you work as a Deejay in a dance hall? lol So, here's a "Fog Machine" alternative: rig a thick strand of clear or color-translucent fishing line to the front end of this toy finger laser-pointer, and keep the fishing line straight outwards to simulate a laser battle on your robot base. The fishing line should act as a "fiber-optic" tube to channel light through it so that it's visible without aiming the light at your eyes. You may wanna keep a pair of UV sunglasses ready just in case the light is still too strong to look at. Lasers ON, now you're ready for some kickass Sci-Fi robot base action! zozo-mag

Here's another landscape version of my CG model Photon Lab, with more tree lines and foliage... .....Okay, I don't wanna bogart this thread with off-topic stuff. But I just couldn't resist posting these Base pics. Perhaps HLPro could get some ideas from these for other robot base configurations. zozo-mag
