I don't know what color they ended up being.. what youre seeing here is all prototypes ... HL getting samples from the factory then making changes to colors and sending them back.. the photos that I just posted are not the final figures.. The figure with the fins that you are looking at is a really old photo. I think that is actually photo shop colors here they are shown as red.. so HL knows about the fins on the back it seems. metaltechfactory.com/metaltech-05/4578475426also the drawing you posted of Roboizer, Im not sure if that's actually a vintage drawing of him.. in the vintage stuff you don't seem to be able to see the back fins from the front most of the time... most of the vintage back shots of him that I have seen, those fins are pretty small. Another thing is that if you look on the parts list for Gattiger, something called a "removable back piece" is mentioned.. that could mean that his fins must be removed to get him to fit inside the flying tiger, but I don't know... could be that the prototype photos I just posted have the back piece off, who knows? either way, most vintage drawings you find of him, you usually don't see the fins during a front view... ok I got it confirmed for you. the fins are red.

Cool pics! Thanks for sharing bro! Looks great! I'm not very fond of how the shoulders to biceps look, but it is what it is. It looks beefier than the Grendizer MT01, but without going into the ridiculous "Bowling ball shoulders/Barbie waist/Thunder thighs look" like the last SRCs did. }D Yeah I remember back when we first saw those shoulders , Mr. J said they checked those and double checked those and they liked how they looked in person. They had plenty of time to change them if they wanted to and they don't want to.. he said they gave him a unique "expression" bc in the anime his shoulders were drawn with a crazy - retro - impossible joint and that is how they wanted to translate that joint onto the figure. Plus, I personally suspect that it differentiates this figure from some of the other customs and statues that were made of him... in other words, its a "signature" move on HL's part.. I think it looks pretty good.. Ill have to see it in person to make my final opinion of it. Gotta have the figure in hand, ya know?

Funny, when hlpro dose it it is called : its a "signature" move on HL's part But when other companies (Bandai 4 example) dose it it is : un authorised anime not accurate design liberties! It looks good though! It is what it is! Now lets wait for the final product

They were just like "look how they drew that shoulder... how can we translate that over to a figure?" so they did something kind of in the middle .. a compromise .. I think it looks pretty good.

LOL... I might just end up "fixing" those shoulders myself anyway, just like I did with the MT01's elbow connectors, and what I'm currently doing with the SRC Mazinkaiser's pileder, biceps, and thighs. }D

I don't know Z, I got a feeling that that figure has quite a "stage presence" in person..

Ok I think its about time for "a little talk".. I was told to address this when it came up and I guess its time. MONTHS back I was talking about how "dynamic" the industry is right now and "all the changes"... well, with the advent of the internet the old system of distributors is starting to show its age.. I think its safe to say that over the next few years you are going to start seeing many companies going over into a more "factory direct" mode.. the process will be gradual as it slowly evolves. The "middlemen" are having problems selling just about everything nowadays due to the internet and free trade. This is good for us as collectors, it means better quality at a lower price due to lower overheads in distribution. The money that you spend to cover the distribution costs can now be shifted into product quality and development.
Unless anything changes in the next few weeks, you will see Gattiger on ebay being sold by reliable merchants or on select sites that have placed orders for them but I was not given all the little details.. the prices will be fairly well controlled and any difference between them will probably be just exchange rate differences and possibly shipping differences. Don't worry, he will be available when the production run is finished and out of China. It would not surprise me if over the next few years all manufactures will be factory direct or brick and mortar retail with the exception of Bandai, probably.
(update) actually HLPRO just contacted me and they said that PBM USA will be sent 300 units so you can place your order with them now if you wish.. but otherwise my post is true...

The metallic paint job is interesting, they chose to not just change the white to silver, but the whole figure is metallic, reminds me of a Christmas ornament, but its cool nonetheless.Ill take the white version Im with TMZ.
Tom will the Spazer also be metallicwith this version or is it not affected?

This comment by HLPRO on FB regarding the metallic version: "just experimenting, we are not sure yet if we will release it exactly the way as seen in the picture, we thought it was an interesting version to look at."
