HL PRO are giving a hint on making Astroganga. that would be another classic 70s mech getting a much welcomed modern rendition. When? After 3 million light-years? hehe,, even if its just a hint, and we dont know when.. theyre gonna gamble again(Gattaiger) on this another obscure robot for the sake of some of u guys adding this missing piece in your robot shelf. well, im giving them props for now... i hope its not a bluff.. |

3 or 4 Metaltechs a year is what they are shooting for depending on certain situations.. trust me, they are working on stuff you guys don't know about also. Bunch of surprises coming down the pipe.
I am checking on Gattiger right now just waiting on an answer.. its probably finished buy now and is being distributed out to the distributors if everything went on time. Ill know more soon..

I wont be getting Astroganga he isnt a Super Robot tecnically. naah,, this not Fewture-like prices,, getting one wouldnt hurt me that much,, besides, that pre-mazinger years lacking representation,, 63' tetsujin immediately jumps to 72' mazinger. It would be nice having an Astroganga in-between. and a good compliment with same oldie Babel II Poseidon. |

I wont be getting Astroganga he isnt a Super Robot tecnically. besides, that pre-mazinger years lacking representation,, 63' tetsujin immediately jumps to 72' mazinger. It would be nice having an Astroganga in-between. and a good compliment with same oldie Babel II Poseidon. True but i dont collect pre 72 but he is definately a nice colorful robot. |

Yeah this thread has gotten very long over the years.. it just evolved that way bc for a long time, Diecast figures were not the top priority for HL Product so most of the discussion was just about MT01 so it kind of evolved into a "HLpro in general" thread but as time goes on and the numbers of MT figures expands, Im sure we will end up breaking the threads down by figures.
Still waiting on Gattiger release date, I have some interesting announcements to make about Gattiger color variants but I cant make them until Gattiger goes on sale.
As for HLpro "taking risks" on Gattiger, in my personal experience with HLpro is that they don't really "take risks" when it comes to production numbers... they know where all the regular buyers are and how many of them there are. They make only a few more than they think the fans can absorb and if they sell out quickly they will make a few more until sales slow down. Mr J himself told me "I work with a calculator in EACH HAND".. one of the reasons HL Product has been around for a long time and remained a healthy production company through these hard economic times. The trick to the whole business of "making robots" is "make only what can be absorbed".. if you make too many or you make what cannot be absorbed, you GO DOWN. So, the key to preventing this is "know where your fans are and how many of them their are"... you cant swing your fists blindly.

I fully agree Tom I dont think Gattiger is a risk at all,hes the beginning of Grendizer one of the top 3 super robots ever,so for sure he will sell well,and on top of it he and the ship look spectacular the way HLPro executed them,no brainer! everyone who is in this section of the forum has no excuse for not getting this guy for their collection,He is a bonafied MUST for me! |

I am really REALLY looking forward to him, and to be honest I really wasn't into Gattiger at first, didn't even know who he was but I watched the Movie and read the Manga issue and I was all for it after that. Only thing that is up in the air for me is the color variants and that is what my impending announcement is going to be about. You will understand when I make the announcement. Something really cool went down with Gattiger release..
..but yeah, HL isn't swinging wildly in the dark, even stuff that looks like it wont sell very well, pretty much is planned to sell out. Like the Retro game mugs and the Golden Condor, they know right were those fans are and they know how many of them their are. Everything they do is pre-planned and target-marketed. Any "risk" HL takes is an "acceptable risk"..

oh sh*t, I forgot to answer the questions about the Spazer on the Metallic version.. HL said that originally the Flying Tiger was going to be Metallic but when the pre production prototype came back, nobody liked it. They said that the normal Spazer looked a lot better with it so they went with the normal color.. evidently when they had all that metallic paint on such a large surface, it just didn't look good. So its going to be the equivalent of having the Chrome Grendizer next to the MT01 Spazer... so it should look real nice.

Any "risk" HL takes is an "acceptable risk".. unless youre a Grendizer fan who watched everything about Grendizer, its safe to say hes not that well-known for mainstream collectors. but hes like Orion pax to Optimus Prime,, for Grendizer fan like me,, definitely, u gotta take that risk!lol |

yeah they know that.. that's why they made Gattiger.. and they plan to make in relatively small numbers. There are enough guys out there who will buy him to make a Gattiger feasible. Its all in the "numbers".

So if we petition HLPro to make certain Super robots and we have enough people.... I can get members of sevral forums together including the Italian forum etc.. then we can get say a Diapolon? Reason I say Diapolon is there are dozens of Europeans,Latinos,Phillipinos not counting the 12 Americans LOL who want him! Surely he would sell better than the Golden Bird .. so if the case is how you say Tom and they KNOW their customers and the amount of them,if I can get enough people would they consider this? Just give me teh go ahead and Ill have a list of people in a week..

I brought Diapolon up and basically it was a response along the lines of "we got so much other cool stuff coming that we are going to have to clear our plate first".. they were NOT against Diapolon, they just were thinking about the issue of timing. See, there are the figures that the public knows about then there are another group of characters that are being worked on or are being considered in secret.. same as the other companies. As for the Golden Condor, its a France thing... and that figure isn't really taking up all that much of their time.. so, I understand why they are doing it. So don't think of it as the Condor taking up time that could be spent on Diapolon, its not really going down that way. Thing with Diapolon is this, (and HL didn't tell me this but I just kinda know how they are thinking right now) Diapolon basically involves 3 figures- if memory serves.. and making I highly specialized set like that isn't really what they need right now. I have been begging for the Getter G set also... its just that right now the best thing they could do is release a fairly rapid succession of real good figures that are targeted at the "missing" holes" in the Robot scene but still associated with Big Name series' so they are recognizable characters to fans but at the same time kind of covering a wide scope. What this will do is enable HL to expand into more specialized characters in some kind logically progressive way. But yeah, I was ALL FOR Diapolon... but having an idea on the characters that they looking at right now..(as far as I know), I can understand why the answer was "yeah, maybe one day we can do that".. but if you come up with a petition, I will sign it and you can send it right to HLpros facebook.. Im sure Mr J and his Partners will consider it and send you a response. |
