Wasn't following the HLPro line, but this Gattaiger piqued my interest. Its not that cool looking of a robot to begin with (almost too primitive when compare to Mazinger, which is already one of the SR forefathers), but it did came from a special heritage...Duke Freed's machine before there was Grendizer. Still have the movie on DVD, even though I haven't watched it for quite a few years now. But seeing this made and up for preorder excites me. Seeing the Metallic Ver. even excites me more!
Preordered!

Okay, after all the secrecy and jerking-off with this release, I was pretty much done with it. Nevertheless, since Pre-Orders have opened up everywhere, I decided to give it another shot. I just P.O.'d the Anime version from Anime-Export, since it is the cheapest around. I can't believe BBTS is charging so much for it, and EE has nothing in their site about it... and of course, neither does PBMExpress. }|

PBM having nothing on it furthers my theory that Paul is a moron.

Is the chrome color ver available from US retailers? No, it was a Japan exclusive and the dealers who bought it expected the Anime version to out sell it. Turns out the Chrome is selling much MUCH faster than expected.

Pre-ordered the Chrome version now I have to go get Gin Gin. What does Gin Gin have to do with Gattaiger? Gin Gin was almost like a "prototype" of the new system that Gattiger was built on... Gin Gin was the first of the "new" Metaltech figures.

The HLpro team is experiencing something akin to what happens when you win a Hollywood "Oscar" right now. I don't think they are getting much sleep right now.
Details on the delay, both me and Baron were right.. it was the Blue and the Yellow. Turns out that the HLpro team did not like how the blue and the yellow on the Flying Tiger met each other, seems there was a problem with the masking process. The units that did not pass inspection are being disassembled and the die cast is being stripped of paint (probably bead-blasting) so they can be re-painted to standard. The delay will be a few more weeks.

Based on everything I have heard about the prototype and what the Japanese thought of it at that Toy show, it was considered to be a very solid figure, heavy in die cast, fantastic paint, unique seamless articulation that hides a lot of the gaps but still gives a decent amount of movement. and it is fairly devoid of "gimmicks".. just a solid, honest piece of work. I cant wait for mine.

Turns out the Chrome is selling much MUCH faster than expected. sort of a mistake on thier part,, most people will display it with GX-04 which has the same chrome parts. for those who only own one grendizer, im pretty sure 90 percent got bandai's version.. and then theres the SRC which ofcourse is not anime color.. its silver. Even HL Pro did release a chrome grendizer. yeah CMs brave 40 is anime color, but i bet those guys already have gx-04 and bought it coz they just want another hehe pre-ordered too.. and ofcourse chrome. almost same price as GX-04S, and u got marine and drill spacers there. i hope its worth the price. I cant wait for mine. the price..well i know HL Pro is not as big as bandai,, hence production cost will be very high.

this release looks great ! but pricy ! more accesories like some efects and stands would justify the high price tag but as it is advertised it looks like there is no accesories at all!

Pre-ordered the Chrome version now I have to go get Gin Gin. What does Gin Gin have to do with Gattaiger? Like stated it was the first of the new type Metaltechs. It's also a Grendizer enemy and I need to get one just because I'm a huge Grendizer fan.

Agree. Just like the Mazinger enemies in the SOC line; Garada K7, Doublas M2, and Mineva X (Aphrodite's enemy), the Metaltech Gin-Gin and Giru-Giru are classic enemies that should not be skipped if you can afford them. }D
