Well HLPro ruined Z-Mazinger they took ALOT of liberties with the colors,WHY ON EARTH are the limbs a different color than the body??Also I realize the manga is black and white but its already been instated by several models photos etc that the scrander is silver.. not red and...orange??!!! This is not manga accurate by any length.Sorry HLPro blew it with the paint choices im pissed. I mean the they only have the covers of these books as sources so how were the limbs botched??? Its not like they take liberties before,why now?Being such an obscure character it doesnt need variation.BLACK LIMBS not Blue!!!!I can ALMOST deal with the scrander it can be left off..but the limbs are a real problem here. Doing the ET Z-Mazinger model I took a special interest in this character,have seen every possible shot and photo and model of him,so I know. I think they tried to give it a real Mazinger feel with the blue limbs and red scrander BUT this isnt Mazinger-Z its Z-Mazinger...Its not their job to make the robot more pleasing to their color palette,the source dictates the colors period.They do get credit for subtleties ET missed like proper curvature of the chest crest tips and the notches on upper arms,good eye there,but they missed the red on inside forarm by elbow,and feet are odd as they chose to make a sphere instead of an incomplete window on the foot like teh ET version,cant comment there.   THIS is how it should look the way I painted it..  |

Just wanna make something clear,I do like the colors alot,very cool,but a green Reideen may look cool too,its just that they are not the correct colors.
If this AND a correct color version were released that would be great! but dont think so at this stage,i hope they dont release a chrome version too with this,then that would really be off to have both choices on an already miscolored toy.
Again im still getting this as its a rare character,BUT i will be getting 2 and fixing one with teh correct all black limbs and silver scrander.

Every figure so far has come in color variants with this Company. The Trike being the exception.
I would say that this Zmaz would be a "action figure" color variant. Something like that.
Just by looking at it , it looks like it would compliment a early SOC Mazinger pretty well.. this probably what they were thinking at the time. Knowing how HLPRO thinks, I would think that we would see a black and white version and a black and chrome/metallic version later on. Maybe at the same time like they did with Gattiger.
Now remember guys, from here on out this is just me talking.. nothing I say is a "leak" Im just going by the past behavior patterns of HLPRO, and what you guys would be able to come up with on your own just knowing what is publicly known. Im not giving out any "solid" or "direct" info about future products. Its is all conjecture.
If you look at the photo of the Gin Gin2 that is on DX, its metallic paint... not just different colors. Kind of like a "chrome" edition of an enemy robot.
There were 3 different colors of MT01 remember? I would think this is the "action figure" color.. the fine print on the photo says "actual color may vary".. so there could be a possibility that the blue gets darkened.. that would look cool too, I think. No telling.

Looks okay... not great, but not bad. Not the first time the colors are screwed up by a company. Airbrush and Tamiyas is all that's needed to make it as good as it could get.

Color variants are fine IF there exists the correct colors as a choice,variants are just that VARIANTS of the correct color scheme.Not variants just for variant sake.Dark blue doesnt fix it,its supposed to be black Tom,I already said they probably were looking to make it look like Mazinger-Z,anime or SOC its all the same.Hope it comes out ok and correct in teh end.

Hope Im reading into your words correctly,but if time means DOWN the road AFTER this first Z-Mazinger release,thats bad business,to have a correct one come out after a non correct one. Should be the other way around,OR both at once.I hope its the latter,choices are good,then those who dont have bunched up panties like me,can get the color choice they like..and I can get the right one. |

Fans that work for HLPro maybe.Anyhow I hope it isnt teh case and all variations will be made at once.It makes little sense to do it otherwise.How may HLPro Z-Mazingers would one want anyway.Its not like its a popular character,doesnt even have an anime. I love the character and hope initially for the correct version.I really hope HLPro doesnt all of the sudden decide to stop production now so we have to wait extra time for the right version,when it could have been done right off correctly.All this is conjecture without fact anyhow,but its better than all the conflicting/changing info we usually get. Anyhow..hope Gattaiger gets here one of these months,Z-Mazinger probably wont be available for another year anyway Tom its not about what looks good,its about how its supposed to look thats it. |

You know we are the limited fans of these characters teh mainstream doesnt collect them,is asking them to look and be correct all that much to ask?I dont want another version down the road soem year,as it is we wait FOREVER for HLPro to put stuff out,now teh colors are wrong,sorry Im upset.Too bad if they get offended,its not my fault.
