Sonic Generations for PC. At ~$10 on Steam, it was a steal. I know that the PC version of a game is usually cheaper, but I wonder why it's by so much on this one. Even on day 1 the PC version could be bought for less than half the price of the console version. Anyway, the game is awesome. The best of classic and modern Sonic with none of the flaws that dragged the series down since its Dreamcast days.
Also playing Batman : Arkham City. Nothing more to add about this one. Except maybe that it's even better in 3D. And I wish there was an Adam West skin to unlock. 'Cause you know Mr. West has done his share of "skin unlocking" in his days. ;D

I think I had a translated menu somewhere for both of the Scramble Commander games. However, I don't really know where they could be right now. Anyway, I got them from the web a long time ago, so you may be able to find them with some luck. }D

I played through modern warfare three this weekend. All of it. Not even across both days, just saturday afternoon. It's kind of amazing how so much can be going on and exploding around you and yet the game manages to feel boring and uneventful.
I'm also juggling Skyrim and Saints Row the Third - mostly Skyrim, but man there's a lot going on there. I feel like I need to take a break from Skyrim every so often just to keep from getting too overwhelmed by it.
Someday I'll get back to finishing Resonance of Fate and FFXIII...

Yeah, pretty much the entire Call of Duty franchise, the campaign mode is an after though. I got MW3 at launch day and didn't play the campaign mode at all. COD has always been about winning matches and being skilled at killing other people without getting youself killed. It is the fast pace shoot your opponent dead and laugh at them over the internet that was the driving force behind the popularity. But too many players nowaday are playing like whimps, not even doing the objective and hide in dark corners for cheap kills.

Yeah same for me on MW2. I only beat the campaign a couple months ago, and I had the game since launch. Its the sort of game you get for online play. I need MW3, but in no hurry. Blockbuster down the street is going out of business so I grabbed Gears of War, Human revolution and LBP2. If the prices come down on MW3, I will go pick that up too.

MarioKart 7 on 3DS. Anyone else got it? Me! I received the Zelda 3DS bundle for Christmas and have been playing the system a fair amount since then. I've also been playing Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 (offline).

Tried out the Kingdom's of Amalur: Reckoning demo on PSN. It was cool, but probably not the best representation of what the final game is gonna be. Half way through one of the many quests I lost all sound. Other than that it looks like it should be solid. I had a good time over all picking up armors and weapons.

The game seemed pretty neat. Action-y but with some good voice acting and cool character design, if nothing else (I'm a sucker for good character face creator). I'll keep an open mind and wait on initial reviews, but it's certainly got my interest for now.

Also, got a chance to mess with the Armored core V demo. Pretty cool. Full of apocalyptic environments and giant robo-things that want to kill you. Nice!

Finally got around to the COD MW2 campaign. Man is it short If it wasn't for the achievements there really would not be a need to play this game again. I just have to finish SPEC Ops Next up Bioshock 2 or Mass effect 2 . Fallout New Vegas had consumed most of my free time and with that done, I can move onto other games.

Fire Emblem : The Sacred Stone (GameBoy Advance on 3DS Virtual Console). For some reason, I never got around to give this series a try until this week.

Man, it's been a while since I posted in this thread. I'm sure I neglected to mention a lot of great stuff in the past months, too.
In this past week I finished Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey (DS) for the first time, playing on the Neutral path. I've seen the story praised by some, but IMO it wasn't anything special (although to be fair, it's more an issue of dry writing/localization than plot). But oh my was the gameplay fun. I've always had a bit of trouble getting into first person dungeon crawls, but that wasn't an issue at all after the first few minutes. I spent well over 100 hours on it in a little over a month and barely even noticed how long I'd been at it. I have every intention of going through for the other two endings and getting 100% completion, too. It's that fun. For all of you reading this who have a DS (that should be all of you! Really!) and enjoy RPGs, I strongly recommend picking this up. Feel free to disregard the kind of strange box art.
I also finally picked up Catherine (PS3), when Amazon had it on sale for $30 a week or two ago. I finished it the day before yesterday. The difficulty is just as steep as others have said, even on easy mode. I did enjoy it quite a bit, but I don't think it's quite what it could have been. I ended up with Katherine's bad ending, which wasn't very fulfilling. I haven't decided if I'm going to go back for the other 5 (?) endings yet. Pretty sure that I'm never getting the platinum trophy. The production values were pretty high across the board. The dub wasn't flawless, but very, very solid and I can't think of a better one in anything else I've played. I would love to see Persona 5 or something similar made with this graphics engine. Anyway, I think it's probably worth picking up for anyone who liked the demo, but patience is required.
I also just started Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (PS2). It's surprisingly pretty, but so far I'm kind of lukewarm on it. The combat is solid and moves decently fast, but I just don't like the system as much as the Devil Survivor, Strange Journey, and Persona systems. The story is pretty much non-existant so far too, and the game is suffering heavily from the old RPG kill-stuff-because-it's-there mentality without much else going on. The difficulty is kind of wobbly too -- there are several apparently notorious early bosses that I've made it past without dying or even really preparing for, but the scarcity and high cost of heal points makes the random encounters more hazardous than they probably should be. MP is pretty much a constant issue. The camera also kind of sucks. I have a feeling the game would have seemed pretty earth-shattering if I'd played it when it was new, but now I don't think it's that interesting or fun compared to its newer siblings. I'll stick with it and report back later though, it's still too early for a final judgement.
Whew, that's a lot of Atlus. I just found Kirby Super Star Ultra (DS) on clearance at Target (must've been lost somewhere in the stockroom...), so maybe I'll temper my demon fiesta with that.

^^ I really need to work on finishing Strange Journey - I'm up to the final (?) HUUUGE map area with all the teleporters, but I haven't really played it in ages.
I found that Nocturne was very much a slow burn, for me. It really kind of dragged at the start, but as the game progressed I found that the atmosphere and overarching character interactions (what few ones are there) really drew me in. Plus, it's one of the few JRPGs I can think of off the top of my head that will have completely different dungeon and boss battles for whole late game sections depending on your actions.
If you like the style of gameplay but would like something with a bit more story, I'd recommend checking out Digital Devil Saga 1 & 2. They use the same basic "press-turn" battle system as Nocturne, but remove the "leader dies = game over" battle mechanism and let you change your unlocked skills at will. This makes the game both easier (because you can build for any situations) and more difficult (because the game knows this and will make some sections brutally difficult without the right skills equipped), and it's got one hell of a story arc across the two games.
For me, I'm trying desperately to finish Platinum-ing Hyperdimension Neptunia, which is essentially a pretty terrible game but one that I've found myself inexplicably caught up in. The sequel is coming out like ... now, and I'd like to have the first game totally laid to rest before it shows up. On top of that I've been re-playing Ghost Trick on my DS during my work lunch breaks. That's a damn fine game. Damn fine.
