AT HLJ I HAVE SEEN THAT YAMATO HAVE RELEASED THE TWO BATTLEPOD, RED FOR MIRYA AND BLUE FOR MAX. DOES ANYBODY KNOW IF THESE ARE RE-RELEASE OF THE OLD ONES OR IF SOME IMPROVEMENTS HAVE BEEN DONE ?

They are supposed to be a straight re-release, but we wont know for sure if there are any changes until someone buys one and gives us a review. I wouldn't expect anything to be different other than maybe some small paint details.

The 1/60 Queadluun Rau that Yamato released waaaaay back in 2004 was built like a Tonka Truck. The items you see on HLJ are re-issues of the same thing. IMHO, improvements shouldn't be necessary, but if your going to nitpick on it, a poseable Miriya pilot figure, some ratcheted joints, and a few more accessories would have made it a lot better. But as far as durability goes, it's like a brick. www.collectiondx.com/node/231

Yes....unfortunately they will not match up to the coolness of the most recent 1/60 releases (VF-1s and Destroids)....when I say coolness, I mean no new articulation or removable mini missiles or any of that good stuff. Hell....I don't even think the Max version comes with a figure for the inside. But I am not positive about that. Anyways....they are not worth the asking price for them....not at all.

The QR was a good toy in it's own time. Stable, big, good assembly, (very) minimal QC-mostly just small smudges of paint), and best of all, built like a brick. At the time of the QR, Yamato was still testing the waters with non-variable Macross toys, and the QR was the guinee pig. If it had been successful back then, it would have brought about other enemy mechs into the toy shelves, but that didn't happen. Comparing the "cool factor" to today's toys would be a bit unfair. If Yamato made a Queadluun Rau with their current design technology and stable of sculptors, today's QR would have kicked a lot of @$$es. But then again, we're not going to get that, but still, the QR was a great toy in it's day.

I have the original, i like it, but it is all plastic. For the price I paid I was expecting some metal.
