I agree with you on both parts there. I like the look of the CMs better (except for the linkup)...but the Toynami Beta looks pretty darn good. Little by little it is growing on me.

You know besides the Alphas Toynami products have been quite decent, their Valks and Voltron were very good toys it's just a shame that the Alphas turned out so bad. Plus you really can't go wrong with a foot tall diecast robot that transforms for $150, now if they would do another run of the original three Alphas with hopefully some lessons learned. By the way did the purple and new Shadow Alphas come out? If so how are they compared to the old ones?

Great question....I would like to know myself only because the Shadow would be the one I would get.

You are right noone have mentioned anything about this new alpha , i never bought any of the new alphas and iam a litle scared of buying one since everyone hates them so much , maybe we will have a review soon

You know, the ultimate irony of this is that Toynami has stuck to their guns with the "limited edition" thing and hasn't rereleased anything... which means that if there were QC issues in the "first run"... well, there's not really a "second run" to fix them. I mean, for all the complaints about the first Masterpiece "Rick Hunter" VF-1J many years ago... well, there's never been another Masterpiece "Rick Hunter" VF-1J.
I'm guessing it'll be the same for the "Scott Bernard" blue Alpha Fighter... (unless you get the Aoshima release... which was even worse! (but for entirely different reasons).
At this time, I'm waiting for either Shadow colours or the purple "Maia Sterling" colours. You figure by the time they get to the last iterations of the mold, they'll have worked out the QC errors from the first models. Not my favourite colours, unfortunately. But I did watch Shadow Chronicles last night again for the heck of it and the scheme is growing on me.

Okay, I think you made your point on your opinion so let's move on.
But hopefully Toynami will notice that there's a limited way to get the original three Alphas so they could do another run. Maybe do something slightly different so they don't piss all over their "limited" schtick they got going on. Maybe all plastic versions that could sell for $30, but I did notice that the Super Poseable Alphas will fit in the Beta's connector so at least you could go that way if you can't get a MP Alpha.

Actually it seems you can get all the Alphas EXCEPT the Scott Bernard one at robotech.com plus there even cheaper than the Aoshima ones. If your planning on getting all 3-4 Betas I'd pick up the respective Alphas now before they get scooped up. robotech.com/store/viewcategory.php?id=2

Namuamidabutsu. I wish you luck.
I wonder what the RT.com return policy is. If they offer calltags and unlimited replacements like BBTS, it might be worth trying to get a decent alpha from them ...

You know if I had the cash, I would buy the MP Alphas and just leave them in fighter mode and get the Super Poseable Alphas since they will connect to the Beta and have less chance of breaking than the MP's.

Actually, since the Beta is doing so well and the original vision Toynami had was to release a 2-pack Alpha and Beta toy, I would say that a 2-pack follow up is very likely. The Beta has to sell really well though I'm sure. Technically it could be a new release and not counted in the original limited edition run. Whether or not George Sohn decides to release an improved version is questionable.
