I'd like to purchase my first so I can start learning and give my models the paint job they deserve..... however I don't wanna spend a huge amount of money..
Could anyone tell me what the best deal would be if I didn't spend more then $300... something that would last me a while, and would not hinder me too much from being able to get a good paint result

id recommend any dual action air brush, it should last as long as you take care of it, clean it every after use. badger is a good airbrush, although you have to be careful of the pins that you use with it. there are some airbrush that is easy to clean, but never tried it yet. there is also 2 kinds, the one with the bottle and gravity feed(which you put the paint on top and usually for detailling). when it comes to compressor, any would do... as long as it has the regulator or the one that traps the water(forgot the term), there are quiet compressors also(which i would prerfer, hearing the motor run for hours makes me crazy lolz) also you can get the some combo ones that comes with airbrush and a compressor already. paints differ on what surface you use, make sure to read or research about it. your $300 budget will get you a good airbrush and compressor iwata, paasche are other brands of airbrush. you can search for "airbrush city" they usually sell kits(own brand) but never tried it.

I've only been airbrushing for about 6 months, so I am no expert, but this is what I have. This is a good airbrush. It gives excellent results and is very easy to clean so you can switch paints quickly. I'm just using this link as an example, I don't know anything about this seller: cgi.ebay.com/Iwata-Model-HP-C-High-Performance-Airbrush-Spray-Gun_W0QQitemZ140290922602QQihZ004QQcategoryZ134555QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemAfter that u just need a hose and compressor. U can get one of those little hobby compressors or not. I have a good sized one with a 3 gallon tank. That way I can just fill it up and use it for a good long while and don't have to run the crazy loud motor all the time. Plus I can use it for other things. Good luck with everything. It's a lot of fun and very satisfying once you start getting the hang of it.

thank you for this info...
i'm still a complete n00b to airbrushing tho.... i don't know a single thing, how they work, how compressors and hoses work... nothing
do you know where i could find info on how it works altogether?
but alright, so a little over $100 for that airbrush... not bad at all

great links man! thanks!
I haven't built many gundam kits in my day but... I rlly rlly want to be able to build another MG Wing Zero... but I want it to be seemingly perfect... the last one I did was out of the box build + panel lined with a marker + flat clear spray paint...
but the end result just wasn't good enough for me... I wanna go all out with cementing and airbrushing

I started out using some cheap HG kits for practice. I just this weekend began work on my first 2 MGs, a Strike Rouge and a Strike + I.W.S.P. I don't have a lot of time to work on them, so it's going to take me forever to finish them.

I'll prolly buy some cheap 144 scale HG's from the 00 Season as they seem to be very well made.... Seravee or Arios would be a good choice... I know I wanna build a MG destiny EBM and MG WZC.... and possibley Unicorn... but I'm sure my preferences will change with time

if your a newbie or a virgin in using airbrush, i would suggest to watch some tutorials in youtube.com, you need to practice your strokes in a newspaper until you get the hang of it.
