SOMEBODY KNOW IF THE NEW MAIA SHADOW FIGHTER HAS BETTER QC THAN THE OTHERS FROM TOYNAMI?
I HAVE ONE TOYNAMI WITH BAD QC AND ONE AOSHIMA WITH VERY BAD QC SO I AM NOT SURE IF THIS NEW ONE IS BETTER THAN THE OLDER.

All reports from those who have bought it are that it has the exact same problems as every other alpha release

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY AFTER SO MANY BAD REVIEW TOYNAMI IS STILL PUSHING THE MARKET WITH THE SAME DESIGN ! IT IS A PITY

Hey, someone gave the headsup on other boards about the recall on Maia Shadow Alphas. Read here... www.robotech.comApparently Toynami will refund dealers, and they are going to remanufacture the Alphas at the new Beta factory. Old factory got teh boot. |

answer toynami "We haven't heard of any widespread quality issues with the Alpha Fighters, and there are no plans to re-produce them in those original decos."
what have toynami been smoking for the last few years? how could they not know that theres problem with all the robotech alpha line.. how could they say that the alpha line has good
QC. man..
THEY SHOULD RECALL ALL THE ALPHAS AND ISSUES REFUNDS.

That's ...um... good news... I think.
I took a chance and pre-ordered my Maia Sterling many weeks ago (anticipating a release date some time in December) but the store I ordered from never received any stock! So now that I'm still waiting maybe this means I might get one of new ones from the new factory. Hmm...

Do not know about the Shadow Chronicle ones, but I have all four of the 1st released Toynami Alphas and in terms of QC, the best of the lot was the Shadow Alpha.
The other three preceding the Shadow were infested with issues, I'm not going to get into details.
So going on this basis, I would've thought that Alphas following the 1st Shadow Release would have had better QC............but I really can't give a 1st hand comment as I stopped at the 1st Shadow Alpha.... Sue Graham was it?
Too bad it took this long for toynami/aoshima to come up with betas as I've really lost interest. Had they been available for sale a few years back I probably would have snapped them all up.

Right, Sue Graham was representing for Shadow Alpha. The long and short of the story is that shortly afterwards when Toynami contracted with Aoshima to do retooling and rerelease rebranded as Mospeda products, Aoshima's factories fell behind schedule and rushed their production and caused even worse QC issues.
One can only assume this hasty recall to cover their butts after releasing a such a critically acclaimed product like the Beta, then people are asking why the first Shadow Chronicles release is so bad by comparison.
