Finally, here comes my good old favorite Hikaru Ichijo's VF-1S with Super Strke Parts in 1/60 scale released by Yamato. :35: In term of mecha design, I personally think VF-1S is the BEST of BEST (B.O.B) valkyrie fighters in the history of Macross animations and none of the other valkyrie fighters including the latest Messiah VF-25 of Macross F is incomparable. I am sorry that I do not mean to be offensive to the fans of Messiah VF-25 or other Valkyrie fighters. This is just my personal point of view.
Coming back to share with you on this Yamato's latest release which I have long been awaiting.:$ I must admit that this 1/60 scale design has much closer resemblance of its animated version as being compared with its predecessor in 1/48 scale which I do own too. Truly speaking, this 1/60 scale comes with improved joints and better stability through transformation. Besides, the most statisfying parts I noticed are:
1) its perfect face (unlike 1/48 scale which comes with a clear vertical gap line at the centre of its face)
2) its hands comes in right size(unlike 1/48 which comes skinny hands like those of drug addict)and extra hands.
3) its Shrinking size is easier to carry.
The above are also the reasons why I chose to buy this 1/60 scale. Another reason is that previously I missed the chance to get the super strike parts for my 1/48 scale VF-1S.
The only flaw I noticed on this figure is that as the whole figure is mainly made of plastic which is rather fragile, therefore, transformation has to be done with extra great care:( . In other word, this figure cannot be played in a rough manner for sure. As you can see from pictures below, my VF-1S is only shown in battroid mode. Since I have transformed it in battroid mode, I will not dare to tranform it back to its fighter or gerwalk mode again. :54:
Therefore, there is a slight disppointment with this box, I would expect it comes with the flight stand but it does not in fact.
Anyway, overall, I still rate it 8.5 out of 10 and reckon it is an another MUST collectible item for fans of Hikaru Ichijo before it gets run out soon. Between, Just to let you know this is probably the last figure I've got this year.
Thanks for dropping in and reading!
