Graham says Yamato is debating on whether the size is too large right now.

You know for $600, this is cool, I won't get it, but it is cool, the problem is, that even at this price and size, it still not to scale with the 1/60 or 1/55's !!! LOL

Is it going to be plastic or diecast? which if it is diecast than 500 to 600 is worth it. if it is plastic then no thanks.
I think Yamato is waiting for Bandai version to come out first and then release their with adjustments.
Just like the patlabor version against the CM's. If this is on par with the patlabor 1/24 version i will dig it.

Why doesn't it have the two ships as arms.. and come to think of it, why were there no arms when the SDFM crashed on earth in episode 1 of SDF Macross TV show

AFAIK, both the Prometheus and Daedalus (??) docked when they were in space. Since this is a prototype, the arms will probably come in later...like in the anime... anime accurate. Or maybe it'll come later as a gift set with recolors or weathering, or two separate arms that you have to sell your sister for to get and complete the set. It's a Yamato afterall.

If Yamato were to introduce a TV version of the iconic battleship (the one with Prometheus and Daedalus as the arms in the of ARMD 1 and 2), I think they would introduce an entirely new sculpt rather than releasing an add-on arms-only pack due to the considerable differences between the TV and movie designs. Here are some references: TV: Movie:

LOL! Sorry for the confusion.
I was being sarcastic at the fact that knowing how Yamato markets it's toys, it'll probably come out with the Daedalus and Prometheus down the line to replace the ARMD's, or even to the point of coming out with a recolor (same sculpt), and call it a TV version.

Electronic with sounds & lights will be good. Sound would be too cheezy and probably tiresome and low quality. And adds too many electronic parts that will fail to function in the future.

Has there been any pictures of it colored yet? Or did this put on the back burner because of the economy.

This looks like the 1/60 Koenig Monster all over again.
Yamato's always been fairly generous with prototype releases, so if in the next few months or so, we don't see a colored or updated info/photos then it's probably shelved.

Transformers don't have a problem incorporating electronics in much more complex designs. This SDFM will be a brick super easy to transform. Plenty of room to put electronics in there.

Sounds would be meh. Good lighting, with fiber optics and such would be super cool, but I know it's about as likely as this toy coming out and me buying it. Har.
