I went through all the photos and the video the owner posted. For that price, it shouldn't be so floppy.

Is it confirmed that the item won't come painted and still comes with a price tag of $2,000?

Yes it's unpainted and it costs $2000, but this item has already been released and is sold out. Some people have the dough, can't blame them.

So I'm happen to hit HLJ and their main page is pointing to an ad for this thing. They're supposedly taking pre-orders. Very limited so it is by email only.
I think I have finally hit the limit of my comfort zone - I just don't have the guts to go 4-digits even if it's for Macross. After the jacket and the helmet, I just don't feel right going there.

I am waiting for the 1/3000 'toy' version. I hope it will be at reasonable price with good (toy) details and paint quality.

Same here - one big deal-breaker for me besides the price is the sheer size. It would take up my whole coffee table! Something the size of the recent Macross Quarter would be ideal.

Babelfish has absolutely no idea how to manage the translation other than to destroy it! all I really get out of it is that at this new scale the final product is about 40cm long in ship mode and that the cityscape detail in the "hold" is still there in miniaturized form. It's also posable to a degree.
I gotta say, I'm actually a bit disappointed to hear it's supposedly just over 40cm... That's about 15 inches... much shorter than Bandai's Macross Quarter was... this thing is going to be tiny! But if those prototype photos hold up to production, then at least it'll look pretty nice.
