This forum has been depressingly quiet the last week or two. I decided to follow Silver's lead and bust out the camera to try to get the blood flowing again. I should start with a disclaimer that I've got nowhere near his photo skill and training, but...why not? King Gainer  ARX-8  Max & Millia  Prime  Prime (again)... I liked both of these shots  Kuro (New Face Ver.)  T-28  Gurren Lagann, piercing the heavens (or maybe the drapes) with his finger  Gurren Lagann, whose drill is the drill that will give logic the boot and break through your monitor  Enki  Lazengann...oooh, menacing. I'm not sure why I messed with the white balance on this one.  Wh-what?!?  How is this possible?  Hmm...  The three Kings of Cost  Mazinkaiser (Black Ver.)  Shin Getter 1 (Black Ver.)  Gurren Lagann (Metallic Ver.)  I hope you guys enjoy them, I had fun taking them. On a totally unrelated note, I can't believe this is my 300th post  Maybe I'm going a little overboard... |

awesome pics dude! and you arent going overboard at all lol. like the macross shot. how is the gurren lagann metallic btw? is it worth it?

Hmm, well... whether the metallic GL (or any other exclusive) is worth it boils down to personal opinion in the end. In my opinion it's wonderful -- it takes a fantastic figure and makes it even better by giving it a sharper and less plastic-y look. My photos really don't do it justice. It's also a nice bonus that he has the completed Gurren Wing without needing to buy Enki and Lazengann. However, the current going prices (on eBay, etc.) are absurd. Personally, I couldn't justify spending anything close to $200 on it, no matter how cool it is. I stalked eBay for months and got mine for ~$50, which in my estimation is about as good as it gets for a limited item like this. The black versions of Shin Getter 1 and Mazinkaiser ran around $40-50 each, also through eBay and Yahoo! Japan hunting. Likewise on these, the $80-100 going rates probably aren't worth it (again, in my opinion), but it's a personal call. As far as the lack of forum activity goes, we're pretty much all on standby until the core Revoltech line "reboots" in a few months. We've got the exclusive Enkidudu and Xan that are both expected to come out in March sometime, and some prototype images of a handful of Getter and Gurren Lagann figures. But otherwise there's not much going on, excepting the side-lines like Hokuto, Street Fighter, AssembleBorg, and Fraulein. But that doesn't mean there's nothing to talk about! There are still the 65+ figures already out there...but I can't think of anything meaningful to discuss...hence the gallery |

Very nice gallery, Cyrano! I have a King Gainer revo and its just fantastic! I look forward to picking up Xan here in the coming months! Really wish I'd have gotten in on those smashing Haruhi revo busts.

You even have Haruhi Bust! Cool.
So sad i couldn't find anymore Metallic GL at a decent price.
I agree that the Revo thread is awefully quiet..But i like to think of it as "Calm before the Storm" since May is about a few more sleeps away.

well your photography skills are good enoug for me! Thanks for sharing. yup not much going on in the revlo front but at least we know we have things to look forward too! If come acrross some extra cash soon, i will be having something really cool in the works!! one of a kind deal......

Thanks for all the comments guys! I just realized that Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann didn't make it to the photoshoot, which is a travesty...I'll have to fix that  Really wish I'd have gotten in on those smashing Haruhi revo busts. HLJ actually still has two of the four in stock at the magazine list price, including the ponytail version: hlj.com/hljlist2/?searchpage=top_page&Dis=-2&from=detail&Word=haruhi%20bust. For the price I'd say it's worth it! Now I just need to get the normal Haruhi Fraulein from the Wii game... $100 is kinda daunting, especially since I couldn't even play the game Has anyone heard anything about the figure getting a normal release at some point? It seems like it'd be a waste for Kaiyodo to not mass produce it. i will be having something really cool in the works!! one of a kind deal...... That sounds interesting, I'll look forward to hearing more... |

Alright, here's part two TTGL  With a little help from his friends   Metallic GL with Gurren Wing  Back view  Three Gurren Wings: (left to right) Revoltech metallic, normal Revoltech, Impact Model  Revo GL meets the competition, calmly asking who the hell he thinks he is  Impact Model GL (he felt left out, so I gave him a cameo)   *EDIT* I'm sure this has been done before, but the idea just struck me and I decided to shoot a few more images. I basically just took out the upper arms and lower legs and then reconnected the parts. The Lagann head comes with Enki. Gurren & Lagann  Gurren with Lagann attached (apparently with Night Fever)  |

wow great collection man after seeing those three gls, IMO I think it goes like this
Revoltech GL = +great poser ,dynamic ,but - not that great paint finish
Konami Impact GL= +Great paint finish, More accessories but - not really as dynamic as the revoltech
Revoltech GL METALLIC= + awesome paint job ,and + great poser as well therefore
really great toy congrats ^_^

Haha, Kenshiro uses his impossible strength to break through a wall of LEGOs! Very nice I'm not sure what's up with my image sizes. I think photobucket might have automatically resized them during the upload or something. At least they don't look as grainy as my usual fare  |

I picked up a few new Revos today fresh from the Post Office. Arx-8 (finally!), Chun Li, and Open Faced Gaiking (he was on clearance, so why not).
The Kenshiro figures are awesome, I should take some pics of the entire collection one of these days.

ARX-8 is fantastic, he has more accessories than you'll ever know what to do with . I did the same thing as you in getting open face Gaiking on clearance, and I wasn't disappointed. I thought the coloring was fantastic, even better in person than in the promo photos. |
