I received the SHCM Pro Zaku II MS-06J (the green one) from HLJ this week. It was worth the wait and definitely worth it at the sale price. It is without doubt the BEST ZAKU TOY available bar none. As with the other SHCM Pro's, it is 1/144 in scale.
CONSTRUCTION/PAINT JOB: Unlike my RX-78-2, the Zaku is well-constructed without any significant paint app flaws. The metallic green paint is awesome. There is fine detailing even under the armor. The tampo printing is amazing. You'll find markings everywhere...and some really tiny ones at that. No broken or chipped parts on mine. Some parts are prone to coming off somewhat easily, especially those on tiny ball joints (e.g., thumbs, L/R skirt armor). Otherwise, sturdy ABS construction. Some DIECAST METAL in the feet for stability.
POSEABILITY: Wow. The Zaku really shines in this department. It features a massive number of points of articulation. Head is on a ball joint. Waist rotates. 3 points of artic. for each joint. Shoulder armors are moveable. Elaborate double jointed elbows. Wrist articulation. Ball-jointed thumbs, moveable index fingers, and other 3 digits move in unison. Fully articulated hips, double-jointed knees, articulated ankles, and splitting feet. Simply amazing for a 1/144 figure (basically modern MG level of poseability).
GIMMICKS: Removable helmet with moveable mono eye. Opening chest and sliding cockpit hatch! Removable backpack (vernier) cover. Removable leg armor to reveal underlying detail. Deployable skirt rack for weapons. Several attachment points for weapons.
ACCESSORIES: Bazooka. Machine gun. Magella (tank) top cannon. Missile-launcher leg attachments. Cracker ("Clacker") bombs x 3. Add'l. cartridges x 2 for machine gun. Grenades ("Sturm Faust") x 2. Heat Hawk (axe) with attachment for activated mode. Display stand for you to put together. Tubing for the display stand.
CONCLUSION: If you're a fan of Zakus or UC Gundam, you owe it to yourself to check out this remarkable piece of toy engineering. Even if you're burnt out on all things Gundam, it's worth it to check this out to see how far action figure development has come. I'm glad to see that QC has improved since I got my RX-78 SHCM Pro. I'll have to take a closer look at that Gundam Unicorn coming up.
