to my knowledge no diecast but they will use ABS plastic instead of PVC and they are upping the articulation of the line so that will not only be beautiful to look out but also much more poseable and more durable!

They're using die cast in some of the joints in the GFFN line.

Ahh Just got the first GFFN from Image anime. First impressions; well since I have yet to open my GFF Zetta II I cant compare it but something tells me they arent much different besides the material used and that it is a hell of a lot more sound. It has a diecast frame with ABS armor so it has a nice heft to it and is very soid. Joints are tight and the painting is way better the other GFF with pretty much no bleeding (something that happens to a lot of GFFs). The new material is a real nice touch and makes the figures look all that more appealing and worth the price.............well not the new price, but the 50 ~ 60 they fetched before. Now for the $100 I paid for this, its not worth it. While they improved quality and visual appeal, they didnt improve on articulation. Again, I cant compare it to the regular GFF yet and I should consider the fact that it is transformable (which I have yet to do) may result in some of the very limited articulation. I can understand the toros being non-rotational due to transformation (however I know its possible to add a rotatable toroso) but its missing a lot of other points. so far it only has about 12 pts of articulation with most haveing limited range. The arms got the majority of movement however no double elbow joints here and no back and forth movement of the shoulders only vertical. The legs are ball joints but dont have much range of movement either you can only minipulate them to a small degre and while the legs bend they also lack double knee joint though it would appear it has them attempting to bend the legs to that degree made you feel as if you were going to break it so I didnt try any harder leading me to beleive that it does not have this ability.
So what do you get with the new GFFN line...... not a whole lot more, oh you do get even more transfer decals which you can add or not (I would assume would be very difficult to apply considering the size of them) and a nice full color poster to show you were to put them. Also the packaging is quite nice. I was expecting a lot more with the new relase then just new materials being used but for the additional price increase they are not worth it. However, this is how they GFFs should have been from the begining.

Thanks for the early review of the GFFN. I was wondering what this latest line would be like. Too bad you don't get more for the price. I wish Bandai would concentrate on the Super HCM Pro series ... maybe make an Ultra HCM Pro line with more diecast and GFF MC quality paint jobs.

Ow... Those evil people at Bandai! Instead of increasing the scale to 1:100 for the GFF Metal Composite, they should have just stay a the 1:144 scale and improve the parts with ABS and metal parts! Then the Psycos Gs would still be in scale with the new GFFN (grumble, rant...)! The 1:144 Gundam would also looked better displayed with the SOCs, cause real robots should be smaller than super robots, but just IMHO.
Now we got all types of metal Gundam with different scales, and I want them all... but still have to make a choice of priority!
Congrats for getting yours, Jose! Waiting for the full review! In comparison photos, I noticed that the new Zeta II has a slightly different paint scheme compared to the original GFF Zeta II, where more blue was aplied to the white parts.
Well, if the transformation is solid, I suppose Bandai can apply the design to improve the Kahen Senshi Z Gundam too.

update
I got to mess with GFFN Zeta a bit more and transformed him to flight mode. He actually has a bit more articulation then i was led to beleive since i was a bit scared to bend stuff beyond a point but after looking at the directions i realized it could be done. so he does have double knees and his legs can actually split from the torso adding extra range of movement however this feature is primarily for transforming him into flight mode. However, the transformation is a bit tricky though. Its mainly a bunch of part swaping but what you must minuplate on the actual figure is more complex then i though it would be but by no means hard you just have to pay close attention. When finished its is one hell of ship though and solid. Most GFF has swapable parts but due to the shoddy pvc used the parts never really stayed on well and for this GFFN the parts just snap on and stay on (with the exception of one piece which falls off easily while handling. Also the stand that comes with the figure is top notch, and it should be noted that in flight mode It is actually implemented into the design so its essentially a part of the ship (though it doesnt stick out when you remove it from the stand too much. So I guess it gets another star probably give it a 7 out of 10 though its still not worth $100, but it sure is pretty and very solid!.
Also note that harder plastic means it will defintely break if it takes a shelf dive. Oh and it is still the same size 1/144 if not slightly bigger but i need to take out my GFF Zeta II to be sure. Will probably do that this weekend with comparison pics.

Ok guys here are some pictures. After looking at the GFF version they seem to only differ in cholor scheme where GFF is solid dark blue and GFFN has patches of dark and light blue, nice touch! I didnt bother taking out GFF Zeta because I realzied I had never opened it before and hell they look identical! The only thing I didnt notice were some of the parts used in transforming Zeta for the GFFN in the GFF box. Box comparison! GFFN much nicer and its a lot skinnier too. GFFN in craft mode next to GFF Zeta GFNN Solo pics craft mode only (too lazy to transform back to gundam mode lol) So still dont think its worth what i paid but it is definitely better then the GFF version. I was contimplating keeping both, having one in robot form and the other in craft form but I dont need two so the GFF is up for grabs if anyone is interested.

I don't know but I want this one since it's almost impossible to find that Chogokin Metal Material Model Aile Strike Gundam. I have the Launcher and Strike version, but wanted the regular Aile Strike version.
