I was just wondering, I have seen blogs, reviews and threads saying that XXXXX popy (chogokin and jumbo) figure's price is going up and so on.
I was wondering if this is true for all the popy items now a days or is it only for specific figures?

only way to find out is by checking the auction sites end of sales results.

My observation is that it must be for very specific figures. Generally the prices seem to be dropping significantly - unsurprising given the current climate. Those items that are for sale at higher prices are tending to stay for sale. Even things that were snapped up at ridiculous prices last year are not shifting right now.

I think generally prices are going down but the exotics ones tend to retain their value.

uberrider is right. For specific vintages, the price doesn't seem to change at all.

Keep in mind too that the auctions have a ton of flawed items. Lately, for me at least and one other big collector, sales have come off of private sources.
I also know of a few Buy in Now "Item is no longer available" ebay sales. You know, sellers save comission and end the auction deals.
So data via ebay is flawed....be careful of trying to trend it.
What I DO know we can hang our hat on is that the supply of vintage minty toys is getting much smaller via ebay auction. I'm not a YJ expert, but have noticed that there are fewer of items I used to see and drool on.
Finally I feel there are a good number of people holding back for certaian items that aren't currently on auction. Latent demand...

speaking of sky high prices. How much do you think a MIB Volt-In-Box is worth now? Also have anyone seen the Popy Voltes V Big Falcon Camp for sale at all? (The big DX one not the small one)

wow 100k for less than perfect... looks like I have to make my own then, with cardboard Hey Bt1 I noticed you're in Toronto as well. Have you ever seen anyone selling vintage Popy toys locally at all? It seems in Canada the supply is much less than the US. Local channel I meant like toy shows, online classifeds etc. Also have anyone seen the Popy Voltes V Big Falcon Camp for sale at all? Well, I shouldn't say less than perfect - from what I recall, it was in good condition, but had been assembled - ie out of their packages. The MIB one, everything was still sealed/unused.
As for locally, I've only been to a couple of toy shows, and there isn't much at all in the way of vintage Japanese popy/bullmark etc (lots of Transformers and the like but thats about it). There was one local guy (an RJ member, but havent seen him in a while) who was selling off a bunch of his collection in the last couple of years on ebay, but nothing lately. I havent been collecting vintage long, so havent really figured out where to go in the local market, so I basically have to stick to online for it.

Ya I know. There's always the same transformers and couple voltron here and there, but nothing exciting.
