Normally, GN-U action models are priced almost US$30, but now they're on half-price sale at some local stores. In any case, I couldn't pass this great deal and got a few of the robot characters from this series that I've always wanted.
GRAN KAISER
Joint articulation is definitely not the GN-U's strong point. Kaiyodo's Revoltech wins in that department, but I have yet to buy a ROBOT Tamashii figure to check out Bandai's design, choice of materials and poseability and then see how it ranks among toy companies in the affordable plastic figure market. Anyhow, Yamato makes up for the lack of poseabilty with their choice in using more ABS and POM and less PVC in their GN-U action models. The ABS and POM plastic feels smoother with minimal paint on parts molded in color instead of sticky paint coated on PVC as found on most Revoltech figures.
