So yeah... my TFX-04 Protector set and Sidearm arrived in the mail today...
Haven't checked out the Protector yet but I have mixed feelings about Sidearm. At first I was real happy with it - it has REALLY sharp molding and appears precision sculpted. This is hugely important for a figure so tiny. It gives a sturdy impression compared to the little guys from Perfect Effect.
However... I also hate that the "grip" in weapon-mode doesn't fit in Rodimus's fist! I mean, okay, it's supposed to go with Protector but still - kind of lame. And then there's the "cross-bow" mode that is completely non-functional - the fit is too tight and I can't get the "wings" to fit into the slots on the weapon-mode. I could understand when my Perfect Effect add-ons wouldn't hang onto my knock-off TFX-01 set. But come on... it's a Fansproject product that isn't working with another Fansproject product? That's just bad design.
Anyway, time for some supper and then maybe I'll get to the TFX-04 Protector tonight...

In order to get the crossbow to work, you need the orange color fins from the Protector. The gold chromes one are made for the henkei rodimus and they changed/adjusted the thickenss so that it doesn't scratch the chrome paint on them henkei rodimus. This was why it doesn't fit on sidearm.

I was actually kind of worried because some sellers specifically mention the chrome options while others do not - just got myself confused. |

Just saw this recently on BBTS and It is an attractive upgrade considering what the original looks like. Makes it look way more agressive than the original G1 cartoon! ;D Thanks for the link&post Chen! ~B |

It looks more like Cliffjumper than Bumblebee. That's because it is, it's just their Cliffjumper head set in yellow instead of red. The head that comes with the figure is way better than this. Emerje |

That's War Within Grimlock, not Prime. The alt mode is anyway, the bot mode is entirely different, but that's definitely Grimlock's head. There's probably be a clear visor over his eyes, but it also looks like the way the face is sculpted you put a mask over the whole thing or some sort of face swap ability with the "Heart Master". Vangelus review noticed the different type of clear : it's more transluscent than clear, but it fits really good with this Rodimus clear version.
