Wow, not bad. Considering now that people now sell this around $6,000 - $8,000 boxed. I got mine a few months ago, about a few weeks after I started this thread. I got lucky just browsing around a local shop here at LA.

Recession or whatever, I'd never know if I could sell any of my hauls after all the work I've done to acquire them; they're so sentimental to me. That jumbo Voltes there looks so pristine and I don't see any scratches nor dents in it either. You went to the right place, and in perfect timing, to score it. Congrats! zozo-Magengar

Good thing recession is over... Wow! Could you spread the word? Because the dollar is still weak and the economy needs to know.

Well' of course recovery will be slow, but recession by definition is over. It's like having an earthquake, now we only feel the aftershocks.

Neat looking Voltes V. Has the right bicep been replaced/repaired? Judging from the feet, he doesn't fold down, does he? Never seen one like this before. A version 2 maybe? Variant? Good luck with finding more info and the value of this. Congrats on owning it!

That's an interesting Voltes V you have there. Is it possible to have more picts of the feet and of the chest, maybe 3/4 angle on the chest, it's hard to see if the red chest piece is emboss in negative or positive on the chest. Also the red feet are strange and the red piece above also. It doesn't look like it have firing gimick in the shoulders like the original one, even on the shoulder that looks like the original one. And finally, there's strange missile holders on the side of the legs. Don't hesitate to shoot more picts, and we might try to know what it is.

Very interesting. Its got the obvious Popy markings on the back, but so many parts and stickers are different from the regular version. I wonder if someone took the torso and added parts of other JMs to complete it. So many parts look familiar (feet from Getter Dragon, ...), but the way they are combined is unusual. Not sure what the deal is. We need some of the experts (mikedeco, nekrodave, etc.) to chime in.

Thanks for posting more pictures.
Like I was saying before, this looks like an interesting piece. From what you can see on the picts, it's clearly not like the orignal one and there's a lot of different parts. All those parts doesn't look like a custom job or a restoration job as they all look clean.
The chest is not the original, there's a big piece with stickers instead of the regular hole to put the red chest piece. The ankles are normally white and they can rotate to fold the Voltes and mimic the tank mode, here it clearly doesn't fold but they look perfectly attached and the feet are part of them. Those feet look like Dragun feet but not really I think. The shoulders are also different and the arms too.
Overall it looks like a "real" toy, but I honnestly haven't see one like that before. Did you get it in Japan or somewhere else? Could be interesting to know as it might be a toy made for outside of Japan, like the Mattel line.
Really cool to share this with us, a nice discovery.

This is really cool, and thanks for sharing the pics. I can easily believe that there was more than one Jumbo version of a popular character. The usually seen ride-on version could have been the more expensive toy, that not all parents would spend for, and doesn't have to be the "only' version out there, right?
What is shown in old dealer, or salesman catalogs, or store ads? This more standard looking specimen is probably lurking in a pic somewhere.

This thing is super cool! To me it looks like a prototype of what a Mattel version of a Voltes V would be. The old lets give him one shooting fist and load him up with missiles approach.
